Maxis Zerolution Contract Renewal

Yesterday i went with my cousin brother to Maxis Centre, as he wants to renew his Zerolution Contract which expire end of Jan 2021.

At first, the Salesman person said can be renew but subject to Credit Check which this came into effect Nov 2020. I was puzzled as my cousin brother has already signed up Zerolution Contact for two years ago.
Then they asked for his IC for Credit Check, then after checking, they said he cannot renew his contract as he don't have any Bank Loan or any HP under his name. He was disappointed and we left the centre.

My question is for signing up or renewing Contract, is a must to have Credit Check. ?
Let say i want sign up under my father name Zerolution Contract where he already has a postpaid account for some time and he has very good record of payment to Maxis. Also he does not have any Bank Loan or HP Loan, is it he cant take this Zerolution Contact?

Did anyone came across with this ?
