Mobo not detect new hdd

i got an old mobo K8MM-V. just got a new Samsung F3 series 750GB SATA hdd (HD754JJ) but this old mobo cannot detect the new hdd. installation cannot be done. headache. is this problem solvable? otherwise got to get a new system. please help. thanks.
