Any recommendation on good software to convert youtube video (.flv) or (.mp4) to playable format?

I have tried several software but failed to get it playable except for one but sound quality is moderate.

I wanted to upgrade my old Graphic Card MSI ATI X1650 256mb DDR2 but was wondering whether I need to change the Mobo + processor. I was planning to get HD6790.

Previously my mute button will turn from blue light to orange/amber when i press on it. however, it didnt change colour now. The light is still blue but the mute function still works perfectly. Anyone can help?
