Recommendation on good padlock

This morning two burglars nearly broke into my house in PJ. From the window at my room, I saw them entering the front gate, which was not locked. At that time I didn't suspect anything as they were dressed smartly and looked like salesmen. Usually I'll just ignore salesmen and not come out to entertain them. But this time, I felt something fishy going on. They didn't shout to ask if anybody is home. After about two minutes and I didn't see them leaving my house, I went out to see what they were doing. When they saw me, they introduced themselves as salesman and tried to sell me products. I asked them to leave and they left without saying another word. Only after they left I discovered the lock had been picked. I rushed out hoping to catch some pictures of them and give it to the police but I couldn't find them.
I already made a police report but the police said they couldn't help much since my house was not really broken into. Now I need a new good lock with high security features. Any recommendation? Thanks.

wired and wireless connection problem...

Hello all the sifus out there.

Currently my lab has four pc connected to the internet through switch. Each pc has its own fixed ip address, which is allocated by our department's server. These four pc have to be shared among fifteen labmates. Apparently this is not enough for us. Most of us has laptop but no hotspot available in our place.

I intend to change to wireless connectivity so that we can use our laptops to access internet through wifi. Can I simply change the switch to wireless router with four ethernet port? What's the difference between them?

Let's say that it is possible to do that. Now, another question come into my mind. Can I connect the four pc through ethernet ports and manually assign the four existing fixed ip address to them? So far my knowledge is that pc are auto-assigned ip address by DHCP server in the router.

I really hope all the sifus here can help me. Thanks
