Time to switch

I have been working for Company A (MNC) for 2 years after graduation. So far, Company A has been treating me well and my current nett basic salary is RM3400. If include allowance, could reach up to RM6000 sometimes. Average it, would be around RM4500 per month.

Within this 2 years, I've seen myself progressing, working smarter and better. My job allows me to meet many clients, deal with many systems, more of a post-implementation review job. I am also due for an exam sponsored by the company soon. Upon completion, my future progression with Company A would be an increment of at least RM1000 every year.

Things look good and bright for me. If I stick with Company A until 30 years old, I would be getting RM10k already.

However, recently I was head-hunted for Company B (MNC) in Hong Kong. Although I would be based in KL, I would be required to travel to HK most of the time and also across other countries in Asia to review the systems of all its other branches.

Offer is RM4600 basic salary per month and include allowances which will surpass Company A. Company A will not give me opportunity to work overseas. In Company B, 1 month, may need to travel to 2 or 3 different countries (highly not suitable for married people). The job scope requires me to review the systems for each of its branches. Progression with Company B seems blur (no promises in increment), but this job will give me the opportunity to meet and work with people from different countries in Asia, e.g. Japan, HK, Vietnam, Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, China, Korea.

As I am still young, I think gaining knowledge is more important. Travelling is highly suitable for me now, as I am still single and always love travel and work.
But on the downside, I have no guarantee that by 30 years old, I would be getting RM10k in Company B.

Should I jump to Company B? Exam sponsored by Company A is also just around the corner.

Confused as I need to give Company B an answer by next Wednesday!

Logitech Rumblepad V2

hey guys, appreciate if you all can help me to clear off my doubts.

I only have 1 PC game with me right now, GRID Racing. invested in the ATi HD4850 and Logitech Rumblepad V2 just for it.

I've activated the force feedback/vibration in both GRID and the Logitech profiler setting, but I still dont get any vibration. I'm so pissed I went to check out further on my issue in the internet. Apparently, the force feedback from GRID only applicable to Steering Wheel. I didnt believe this shit, and looked further. I noted that the XBOX 360 controller works with vibration.

How can I fix this. I bought the rumblepad for the vibration only.

Dell Inspiron 700m

my gf's laptop's wireless network aint working.
it's a Dell Inspiron 700m
it cannot detect any wireless network in range.
it is still functioning few weeks ago when we went to malacca.
but today, it isnt detecting any when we went to Starbucks.

I tried disabling and enabling the network adapters but, no, it is still
the same. Unlike my Acer, there is an ePowermanagement program to control
everything. Dell doesn't seem to have that. I've tried repairing and troubleshooting
it, but nope, nothing seems to help. how?

Nokia vs Dopod

Hi. I have a tight budget of RM2000.

I am eyeing on Dopod 818PRO and Nokia N73.

Which 1 is a better choice. I used to use a PALM PDA last time and I missed the days of using a PDA. Dopod 818PRO seems to be giving me that feature with a phone inside. Slim for a PDA. USB 1.1 oni. can use Wi-Fi.

N73 on the other hand is 3G capable, 3.2MP camera, and can even view MS documents, and cost cheaper than the Dopod. Not as huge as a PDA, screen too small. cannot use Wi-Fi. my frens N80 wi-fi is lousy too. not capable of utilizing wifi zone o sumthing.

Which 1 should I go for? HELP ME DECIDE pls.

hard disc compatibility

my mainboard is MSI 865PE Neo2.
In the MSI site, it is stated, it supports SATA.
So can I buy SATA2 or SATA3 hard disk?
Cuz the price list in the low yat shops suggest oni SATA2/PATA/SATA3...no SATA

Cannot start windows

Hi lowyateers...

My PC was working fine this Monday (when I last on it)....today, I on it again, it loads nVidia graphic cards, core cell blabla, but then the usual Windows loading screen doesn't appear at all. Could it be a bad sector or something? I just couldnt start windows at all and the HDD light remain there......obviously it is trying to access the HDD, but there is only sound.........
the sound is like, "ZERK ZERK ZERK, KERK KERK, ZERK ZERK ZERK, KERK KERK"
where zerk sounds like it is loading
and kerk sounds like it cannot access it....

What happened? Please help me

Hi fellow lowyateers...

this is the SITE I was referring to and I have a few questions.

The article only suggests Linksys router, but I am using Belkin and Aztech. I assume I can connect Wi-Fi webcams from other manufacturers to the mentioned routers.

Anyone knows how to go about it? The article mentioned that the Linksys Webcam is a standalone web server. So say if I want to monitor the house from outside, how do I go about it? I don't think I can access the image when I am away from my house right? can I actually do that? by configuring those IPs, can I access from outside? I mean, I couldnt access my Belkin Router configuration via another PC in Penang when I am in KL right? Get what I mean? So how could I possibly access information from my house computer when I am at office?
