Hey sifus!

I have a company setup with a couple of guys, and we have purchased a franchise to be opened in a mall. However, while we attended the fit out briefing, we were notified that the mall's opening date will be delayed at least until Q2-Q3 next year.

So a bulk of the money in the company's account are parked in FD for now, rolling on a monthly basis for 3% per annum. As the new opening date, was estimated to be around Q2-A3 next year, there is a frame of 9 months where the money will be sitting in FD.

Are there any other investment oppurtunities which will favor better returns than FD, preferably via the same company's current account?

Shopping Mall Retail Space

Hey all,

I have been doing quite a bit of work trying to get some FnB franchises with some cash I have stocked up over the years. In almost all the franchises that I have spoken to, I have hit the same issue! That is to secure a location within a good mall.

The thing is, almost all the leasing people I spoke to, will reply with the same comment, "Your proposal has been accepted by our mall, and we really love to have you in our mall, bla bla bla, BUT we do not have any space at the moment. We will call you once a slot has opened up, and your proposal will be currently in queue". Well, pretty much KIV-ed.

Anyone care to share their experiences/comments (if any)? Is there anyway to effectively speak or propose to these leasing people to have a higher chance to get a lot?

Hey all,

I would like to develope a webpage based on an idea that I have, and what I would like to do is not simple. It is slightly more complicated than the usual forum-based/blog-based/user registration of users.

However, I would like to put in a bit of money to invest in this, hence I would like to source for some developers who can provide me with a so-called turn key solution based on my idea.

The thing is, how do I go about protecting my idea? What stops the developers from declining my offer/proposal, and then go develope it themselves?

I suppose I could learn hwo to code a website, but that would possibly take up too much of my time as I have a day job as well.

Any ideas?

Dedicated CD Player VS DVD/CD/Blu-Ray Players

Hey all, I was just wondering if there is really a big difference in getting a dedicated CD player like NAD, CA or Marantz (and etc..) to play your CDs (let's assume we take normal RM50-RM100 non-SACDs) versus using a RM300 DVD plater or maybe a Blu-Ray player like the Dune range?

Can anyone share their experiences / technical reviews perhaps?
