connecting router to wireless router

I've been using the wireless router (SMC2804WBRP-G, Barricade g 54Mbps wireless broadband router) for quite a while and was working fine until recently when my modem (ZTE ZXDSL831) was damaged due to power surge ...

I then bought a new modem/router (Aztech ADSL2+, 26Mbps ADSL2/2+ ethernet USB router) but hasnt been able to connect this to the wireless router. The Aztech modem works fine on its own (it has an auto dialer which connect you to internet whenever you switched it on)....

The wireless modem has a similar feature and I suspect this could have caused a conflict and may be the reason why I could get an internet and wireless connection whenever I connect the Aztech modem to the wireless router. I'm not well verse on the setting parameters for the wireless router, and was guided by the manual, however the manual did not have sufficient troubleshooting guide to help me ..

I'm hoping that someone out there would be able to help me out ... Thanks in advance ..

certificate error

recently when I try logon on to yahoo, I noticed that there's a warning indicating a problem with the websites security certificate. Two options were given ie.
1. Click here to close this webpage.
2. Continue to this website (not recommended).

when I chose 2 it goes to this website "https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.src=fpctx&.done=http://www.yahoo.com" and it contains the yahoo login panel (similar to the the normal login panel), but the website is highlighted in red with an indicator of 'certificate error'. I can proceed to logon though.

my question is how do I fix this problem or find and delete the certificate ..... it seems that it may have been hacked

Thank you in advance ..

LAN setting to proxy

hope someone can help me out ... I'm using IE7 and have wireless router (brand : SMC networks) connected to my desktop.

My problem is, everytime I switched on the desktop and run the internet explorer I have problem in surfing the internet. I later found out that the LAN setting (under Tools>>Internet Options>>Connections>>LAN Setting) has the "use the proxy server for the LAN .." checked although I have repeatedly unchecked it.

So every time I switched on the PC, I have to uncheck this option as it keeps on reverting to "use proxy server" when I switched off the PC. Once I changed this, I dont have any problem surfing but whenver I switched off the PC and switched it on again, it's defaulted to "use proxy server" option ...

I never had this problem before, but somehow it seems to be defaulted to this option. Is there a way to set the default to "uncheck" ?

Thanks ..
setup problem ..

I tried installing the latest Norton Systemworks but ran into some problems. I've uninstalled it but now everytime I open MS word, a windown open up indicating it's trying to configure Norton antivirus 2006 and then a 2nd window open with an error stating ' This MSI must be launched through setup' ...

I couldnt get rid of it even after deleting the registry related to Norton/systemworks ..

I posted an article on shutdown problem recently and have tried some of the suggestions but none worked. I think it may be related to this problem...

Appreciate if someone could help ...

Thanks ..
