Swelling laptop battery is a manufacturing defect?

I bought a HP spectre X360, the unit bought more than a year but it came with 2 year of warranty, recently i found that the whole laptop can't even sit flat on the table and the touch pad part was slight bent and i guess possible due to the battery is swollen in the laptop. I gave a call to HP Malaysia and they created a report number for me but took them more than 10 days to send a technician over to check. The technician took the laptop back and now send me a quotation that asked me to pay RM6xx to replace the swollen battery but my unit is still under warranty moreover I'm not complaining the performance of the battery but a swollen battery, this is a ticking time bomb waiting to catch fire or even explode. No battery should ever swell (under normal operating conditions) to an extent where it deforms the Laptop it is supposed to be powering.

It's been few days i email them again to explain but they seems just ignore my email. So guys do you think case like this should HP replace the battery for me or do I really have to pay for it to be replaced? A swollen battery is consider manufacturer defect?
