Domestic partnership

As per topic, I find myself in a position where someone close to me has gotten into a domestic partnership not ammounting to marriage. She has even become pregnant with his child. Her partner is also in another domestic partnership with another lady and has children with that lady as well. Obviously the person has vast material wealth and has promised to send her overseas and provide for her and the child. She hasn't shared this news with her parents yet and as her parents are very old she worries about their response. She is trying to prepare her parents by saying that this arrangement is normal nowadays and is acceptable.

I have concerns that once the other partner is aware of this child the guy may be pressured into leaving her and she will be left with all the responsibilities of motherhood without any support. She trust this guy do completely one might even suspect black magic at work. (I don't btw, I just think she's really naive or the guy is that manipulative.)

Just wanted to share this experience and get folks feedback on this situation. Have any of you encountered such a situation?

Diablo 3 CE now up to RM850!?

Just a rant as I have been desperately trying to find a reasonably priced CE of this game and every single person and store out there insists on asking for RM850 for this. This is more than double the RRP from Blizzard. While I can understand that these are supposed to be rare and sold out, I hardly think jacking the price up to double the original price and quadruple the standard edition price to be fair.

Furthermore, if these things are supposed to be so damn rare why are there at least 20-30 copies found in lowyat.net garage sales alone? Basically what it boils down to is some jerks decided to snap up as many copies as they could get their hands on to inflate the prices. At least that's from my perspective.

So personally, I hope all those responsible for jacking up the prices get stuck with them and will have to sell them for less than their cost price later on. Seeing as how the general reviews for this game have been bad, I can actually see that happening. I will likely give this game a miss if I can't get hold of the CE version as all I really want is the damn Diablo skull and soulstone USB anyway.

What would your reaction be if your friend post this up? I mean, I really feel that this person really deserve everything and if he commit suicide, the world will be a much better place. My reasoning?

He was married and he divorce his wife just cause he met some new girl. He willing to sacrifice all his assets and all his property for some random girl who is not even married to him over a women that he's supposed to spend his entire life with.

As a girl would you feel happy that a man is willing to destroy his marriage for you? Do you really want to be branded as a family breaker?

What can I say? Karma's a b**** ain't it.

I wish I could post the responses he got, cause oddly enough, all his friend support him despite the fact that he clearly spells out that he DIVORCED his wife to be with her...

Need some advise from career guru's...

Currently I'm working for a home grown Malaysian company now. Starting working 2 years ago and for the most part things are good. In terms of pay it's not too shabby. First increment was RM600 and second increment was RM500. In total, basic is nearly 4k. Claims and extra's are usually in the range of RM500 - RM700. Bonus not guaranteed. Company did very well last year also only got 2 months only...

So after a recent project, I got offered by a International company to go and work for them. The basic pay difference is RM900 and I know that there are still claims but not sure how much that will come up to. The opportunity is good as International companies have many more opportunities as opposed to homegrown companies. However, the pay comes as a bit of a disappointment. They say that bonus is minimum 2 months though so I guess that's something...

So what's the opinion of the career guru's here? Go or stay?

*Added background information*

When I first join my current company 2 years ago, it was as level 1 support at the helpdesk. It was just starting out at the time and there were only a few people and I was one of the "so called" pioneers. As the group grew, certain things had to happen, first and foremost there had to be a shift schedule and fresh graduates needed to be trained. So I took the initiative and planned the shift schedule and even wrote up a training manual for use by the helpdesk.

One day, I asked my employer to promote me to lead engineer with the helpdesk since I was already handling all these responsibilities. He inform me that he wants to take me out and move me to 2nd level support since I'm more experienced. So I took up that position. I later found out it's cause he needed to give incentive to another colleague that wanted to quit since he feels he's over qualified. So the position of lead went to that person.

As time pass, the helpdesk team grew and just recently I found out he had been given the title of Assistant Manager... I can't get to managerial level cause I'm already directly under my boss. Basically, we're both under the same boss but he is a Assistant Manager and I'm just an engineer... The reasoning for this is because his team grew in size (Helpdesk need large numbers) but 2nd level didn't (less people).

Worse of all, in order to do my job better, I spent my own money and bought a Blackberry. So of course my work become more efficient (hence the high pay increment) but what really put salt on my wounds is that person got a Blackberry too, fully sponsored by the company....

So yes... you can say I'm a bit butthurt but that is the truth of my situation... the only way I can progress is if my current boss retire / resign but seeing as he's already been there for 10+ years, that doesn't seem likely...

I play WoW with my wife and have just recently purchased this router. The problem is that when both of us are online together, the latency spikes into the thousands. If only 1 of us is playing, the connection is fine. I've tried adjusting the QoS and all that but nothing seems to work.

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a place to rant and rave to release some steam. Before I begin let me begin by saying that things between me and my wife are fine and good. We may have had some problems along the way but we've managed to move past em and compromise with each other. However, the wedding date is coming around and I'm realizing that things are not going so well...

First of all there are my parents who insist on doing things in grand splendor while I just want a simple wedding without too many bells and whistles. Now I'm the kinda guy who would rather burn 10k on a honeymoon to the Maldives rather than spend 10k on a wedding dinner / ceremony. My parents initially stated that they will pay for the event since they wanted it in the first place but it is starting to look like the burden is falling back on me.

Secondly, the wedding ceremony at the church seems to be a bust. Apparently you can't just go to the church and tell them that you wanna get married on such and such a date. You need to go for a weekend event that is only held 5 times a year, you need to get the certificate from said event, you need to meet up with a priest for the prenuptial inquiry (aka interview) and finally the priest has to send a letter to the church of your choice telling the priest there that he consents to letting you and your wife get married. The entire process takes 6 months or more.

My wedding is in mid July...

So yeah. In short, the priest wont "marry" me in church because I don't have the proper paperwork despite the fact that I have already been LEGALLY married for almost 7 months.

So right now, my parents are peeved that I can't give them a church wedding and there is nothing I can do to the matter. The restaurant has been booked, the flights have been booked for my relatives and my wife's relatives. So church wedding or not, it's going to happen.

The saddest part of it all is that on what is supposed to be the happiest day of my life, I will be the saddest person there. Not because of my wife but because my parents aren't happy that they can't have it "perfect"...

Sigh.. The only way to get the church wedding now is to attend the wedding course in Johor in July. About a week before the wedding and pray that they can make it in time.

Well either that or screw the church wedding...

What is the average annual income for Malaysia

I was trying to look for the average annual income of Malaysia but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I just want to find out so that I know where I currently stand in terms of my earning capacity.

At the moment, I am earning roughly RM38k a year if just on salary alone. I do have additional claims that would put my average income closer to RM44k a year.

Appreciate any information you could provide me regarding this. Thanks!

1) There is 'witch' in every woman, no matter how beautiful she is !
2) If you don't let a woman have her own way, things are going to get ugly !

Fed up with my wife

I'm really fed up and pissed when I think about it.
My wife and I have been constantly arguing ever since we got married in December.
What makes it really sad is that it's barely been 3 months and things are already going south.
It's not that major of an issue either, it's always something small like me not helping around enough in the house, or me not putting things back where I took them from, or me selecting the wrong plate for the wrong contents. Little shit like that...

Now, normally I'm a very quiet person so I will just let her have her say and do what she wants me too despite the fact that I'm not exactly happy with it.

But today I had enough. I told her that she should be grateful to have a husband who
1. Does the dishes every night after dinner.
2. Takes her shopping every weekend without fail.
3. Lets her have her way most of the time.
4. Gives her the freedom to do what she wants without being suspicious or possessive.
5. Lets her go home to her parents house on New Years Eve.
6. Defends her from my own parents when they demand certain things from her.
7. Defends her choice of religion.
8. Helps her family whenever they need it despite the fact that the other in-laws don't give a damn.

And her response is
"Just because other people are bad means I need to accept and just be grateful for what you do? Cannot improve at all?"

To which I responded
"If you really feel that way, then go find another guy who can meet your requirements!"

"I dare you to say that again."

And I repeated myself (I had enough of her nonsense).

Needless to say she hung up and later sent me an SMS saying she never regretted marrying me but because of this day, she does now.

I'm so damn pissed off that I'm actually considering that we may not be right for each other. Most probably its the anger talking.

My wife's best friend ended an 11 year relationship recently as her fiancee (yes they were engaged) and her were constantly arguing. The guy was always looking down on her as she was an average wage earner (3k++) while he was earning 10k++. This guy was very selfish and self centered. He bought a 2nd hand BMW and wouldn't let his fiancee drive it. When she was sick he wouldn't even care about her and just let her be. He would always tell her that he felt she wasn't independent enough and was always depending on him even if all he did was pay for a RM4 bowl of mee. This was all when she was staying with him under the same roof.

Finally, she had enough and said goodbye and moved out of the place.

After leaving him, she was very very sad and devastated so she focused all her time with work. She took up many many part time sales jobs in order to fill the emptiness she felt and earned a lot of commission as she took up many sales jobs. She would then pamper herself by buying really expensive stuff. She even took my wife to Disneyland to take her mind of him. She recently bought a brand new Fair Lady for herself.

Now, the guy is coming back for her again. He's is constantly asking if he can have her car when she goes out with his boss. Initially she avoided him but recently she fell sick and the guy called her up asking if she wanted to go out. She told him she was sick and didn't wanna go out and he rushed to her place to cook porridge for her.

Well, me and my wife told her to stay away as this type of guy will revert back to being an ass the moment he gets what he wants. She however is feeling week kneed again and wonders if he really has changed.

Sigh.

Well, my wife is generally upset bout this situation and even though we try to advise her as much as possible, we concede that the last choice is still hers. Just wondering what you would do if you were me. How to convince her not to take back this kind of scum...

Need a good place for dinner

It's my fiancee's birthday and I want to do something special since this will be her last birthday with me as her boyfriend since she will soon be officially my wife soon. So I want to take her out for a nice dinner but have no idea where a romantic place is. TGI's is more of a group / party atmosphere and most of the other eateries are crowded and the ambiance is just not so good. So I'm looking for a fancy restaurant with the whole works. Wine, good food, good atmosphere the whole works. Money is entirely no issue. Willing and able to spend for the whole works.

Not sure how many of you have been listening in to Hitz.FM in the mornings but they've come up with a new gimmick for their show. Basically they have a phone number that they are telling people to give out whenever someone asks for their number but you don't actually wanna give their real contact number.

And they play these calls every morning just so see how desperate some people are.

Was listening in to a bunch of messages this morning that were from a girl. The basics where as such.

Message 1: Hi D, A here. Remember me, I'm the hot girl in white you met last night. Just thought I'd call and see if you were free for dinner tonight. Call me. Bye.

Message 2: Hi D, A here. I've been calling you for about 10 times now, why aren't you answering your phone? You promised we'd have dinner tonight right? Please call me back. Bye.

Message 3: WTF D, why aren't you calling me back? Why'd you give me this number if you weren't gonna pick up? Don't think you're so hot and cool, D. Remember, it was you who was hitting on me last night and not the other way around. You better call me back!

Message 4: (Crying) D please call me back. I thought you said you loved me. You at least still like me right? Please call me back, D. Please...

Now there are 2 ways I could look at this.
1. D is a jerk, lied to her, slept with her, probably got her pregnant, and gave this number out so he wouldn't have to deal with her ever again.
2. A is a real despo and doesn't know when she's not wanted.

Either way, I gotta wonder how ethical having a so called, Unwanted Suitor's Bin like this is. What do you guys think? Do you guys think it's ethical for a RADIO station to be doing this and AIRING these calls out in the first place. (Never mind if it's staged or not, we'll assume it isn't)

And does anyone have any horror stories of guys or gals that just wouldn't stop even when you made it clear you were just not interested?
