Wifi Setup

Dear SiFu'S

need you expertices on some wifi networking setup and my apology in advance coz i know its a beginners level question .

i am planning to build a network between 3 units of apartments that is stack 6 floors apart ( i.e. level 3 , 6 & 9).
by using the following :

1. Streamyx 2 Mbps line
2. Linksys Wifi Router N ( 1 unit)
3. Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender (multiple units)

here are my few question .
1. is it possible to connect wifi router > extender > extender (again) ?
2. Will the internet speed decreases after each "extension"

i heard that the firefly habitat has been destroy by development around that area and not many are left ?

izzit ok to update OS/security patches for servers while everything is working smoothly ?

differrent user profile will have different setting and differnet access to files.

this is a 10 years old technology ....

Hi Pro's ,

im not an computer guy and my apologies if my IT facts are wrong....

im planning to change my graphic card but i heard that we got to check the compactiblity of the mother board too.

so now there are few question that require some guidance from U guys

1. how to check my mother board ?
2. my current graphic card is redeon x300 series , what are the recomand graphic card is recommended?
(my pc is P4 2.8 Ghz)
3. what else i should be looking out for ......... ?

Hi Gurus,

I need to seek your advice on how to check the free space of the hard disk in Linux RedHat . I used command df, its giving partion size, partion used, partion available for use.

But I want to know the total disk space is free and used, E.G. like my hard disk size is 100 GB, but used only 30 GB for pattition , now how can i know the remaining unused partition space in linux.(It means I need to know the free unpartioned space).

what are the command that i can run to display the total available hard disk space ( partition and unpartition) ?

I would like to ask all linux experts out there on how to read/understand linux hard disk space .

I got a server with 140 GB (70GB + 70GB) hard disk space with 1 master and 2 slave running in it.
When I run the "df- l" command the result is show below :

after I calculation, TOTAL =34.85GB. (I know I should have run df-h in the 1st place)

1. I would like to ask ur expertise on how to know where my 100 GB of Hard disk is ?
2. what are to command that I can run to view the hard disk space in slave 1 & slave 2 ?

Sharing Folder

Dear Guru's ,

I cant shared folder by on my network, I have set granted permission ( full control) for PC A to view my folder but still PC A can not access to my folder.

I try pinging PC A and it works, but when PC A ping me , it fails ( I though pinging is a two way traffic , plz correct me if im wrong).

Guru's can u help me on this network sharing issue ?

I want to check with all of u guys , can RAM be in the form of 392 MB,360 MB and 262MB ?

from what i understand it should be 64 MB, 128 MB , 256 MB .....

can anyone help explain this situation?
