Any Apple reseller can? (MAC City, Machines?) or have to go to any MAXIS centre?

Cutting of my ASTRO...whats the best time?

Hi guys.... I am seriously considering cutting off my ASTRO!!!!

Reasons :

1) ASTRO has increased the bill and now... with government TAX!!!?!?!?
2) ASTRO is perhaps the only "PAY-TV" service with Toothpatse and shampoo adverts even on pay channels like discovery and HBO?!?!?!?!
3) I seldom watch all the channels anyways
4) my favourite series like CSI and such are always yesterdays seasons... (I get more upto date seaons by ahem2 downloads)
5) DL movies and series are now in HD anyways...
6) I watch my EPL matches with friends and rowdy crowd (more fun) at the neighbourhood mamak!!!

So my question is..

1)when is a good time to call ASStro to CUT it off??
2) Ive just settled my october bill. if I cut it off today? will my astro reception be cut off today or at the end of the month?
3) was there a contract with astro? (must I stay loyal for 1 or 2 years?)
4) Is there a penalty fee for termination?

hope my dear lowyat members can give me some advice...

I've noticed that the people have become too dependant on ASTRO and being the "Sole" provider and with no other competition I fell like Asstro can do what ever and however they want...

Hi guys.. want to ask ur expert opinions...

a day ago my sis bought the nokia (5300) "Music" phone....

the shop is at Subang Parade LG floor called TAKACOM.

She traded her nokia 7360 "autumn fashion phone" for RM 450 (is this a good price?)

and then she was asked to top up RM 700 to purchase the nokia 5300.

the nokia 5300 offered is an AP set ... not an original Avaxx or Zitron set.

so total price for the 5300 AP set sold to my sis is RM 450 + RM 700 = RM 1150

is this price worth it??

what bothered me most is that I ask at an original shop said that their avaxx set was selling at only RM1100 plus I saw the suggested retail price in The Star In Tech also said that the price is RM1099

so was my sister ripped off?

coz I saw bdl's thread also stating AP price is RM980.00

looking for second opinions from u guys...

all inputs welcomed
