Update to Amber manually

I successfully flashed a 920 to the Amber update a few minutes ago.
As of writing, Aug 18 midnight, it's only available for Red & White 920 models.

For other models, I am unaware of the availabilities.
If you're interested, please do check for your device model.

Official Lumia Amber update status for OTAs are listed by Nokia at this link: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/softwa...n-asia-pacific/

But if you don't wanna wait for OTA, and are interested in flashing your Lumias to Amber, steps are provided below.

1. Download Nokia Care Suite 2013.8.3
2. After installing NCS 2013.8.3, click on Sign In.

Step 2: Product Support Tool for Store 5.0 Instructions
1. Plug in your device
2. It should be able to detect your device
3. Click on Tools > Firmware Download
4. Input your device Product Code (e.g. Lumia 920: 059R024)

5. Click on Check Online
6. Click on Download
7. The file size should be around +/-1.38GB
8. Wait for the download progress to be completed

Step 3: Once the firmware file is completed
1. On the bottom left click Programming
2. Click Recovery
3. You should see the firmware you downloaded earlier under the Properties field.
4. Click Start
5. Follow the instructions for Step 4's #1-4... then head to Step 3's #6.
#6. The software will check the package contents, it will fail to find the phone, and ask you to reboot and give you a button to click retry.
7. After about 15 seconds you will see a top NOKIA logo and the software will start flashing the phone. This will take less than 10 minutes.
8. You'll then experience the whole set up experience again. When setting your phone up again, you'll be given an option to restore your phone.
9. Restore.

Step 4: Phone Directions:
1. Plug the phone into your PC
2. Hold the Volume Down and the Power button, click RETRY on the Product Support Tools Window
3. After you feel a vibration in the phone immediately release the Volume Down and the Power button and hold the Volume up button.
4. Continue to hold the volume up button, you will see the software say "Rebooting"

They say get a good job, a good career, or get yourself into business where you can get a lot of money.
Having tons of cash is nice. You get to buy yourself a good place, pay for good food and fancy places, you get to buy nice clothes, and go back to a nice house where its decorated with nice furnitures.

You get to impress your friends and family with the amount of money you are willing to spend..

We are taught as kids to attain wealth. I guess that's just how we Asians are, we have to have the greatest, the biggest, the most this, the better that, I own this more than you, I get to go to more places... blah blah and blah.

We are hardly taught to be happy with ourselves, to search for what makes our respective lives meaningful, to identify what makes us happy. We are taught to sacrifice on our happiness and our sanity for the sake of attaining cash and more cash to finance everything that we acquire.

The society of capitalism, consumerism, where the more we have, the better we seem.

And so.. after all that, then what?
I've seen so many people with lots of money with hollow lives.

Given the choice of pursuing your dreams and not live extravagantly but rich in experience and stories, with your heart satisfied.. vs. being the typical working drone slaving over money.. I would like to choose the former, but I'm scared.

Scared of the typical thing we have been taught all our lives. Then again, I arrive back to the question: Once I've achieved the typical 'comfortable' life with enough savings for rainy days, then what? What is the meaning to coming back to a pretty home driving an impressive car dressed prettily when your life is then empty?

Please put aside suggestions and talks of "pray to the Lord", "listen to His guidance", "let Him speak to you".. I'm a non-believer of organised religions of this world.

The question is, after sacrificing the most part of your lives to attain monetary riches, will that be worth it in the end? Would you regret after 20 - 30 years down the road saying to yourself that you should have done this, that / I should have ended up with him or her / I should have gone on that adventure / I should have traveled more etc?

What's your take on this?
(hearing from people with tons of working experience is appreciated)

Cheap Rebonding or Straightening?

Dear people, especially Girls

I'm a student with a limited budget.
Am looking forward to straightening or rebonding in the coming weeks, but I don't have much money on me this month

The last time I did hair straightening, it cost me about RM300+ or so. Whackiest price I ever paid for my hair, but oh well.

Now I'm looking about RM150 - RM200. Doesn't matter, rebonding or straightening, as long as they're within the price range.

Anyone knows where in KL that offers this around that price range?
I'm staying somewhere in Seri Kembangan.
