Is my WiFi Extender slowing my internet speed?

Just now I bought a TP-Link WiFi extender for my house, I put it in and installed it, and it seems to work. The WiFi radius has grown considerably. But when I went back on the non extended connection(the default connection from the router) I realized that my download speed has been cut hard. I am not sure if its the extender itself or simply a case of peak time for the ISP.

I even switched off my extender and the speed given off by my standard connection is still a fraction of what it was once.

I know the connections given off by extenders are somewhat slower but I want to know if extenders slow EVERYTHING down, chiefly the main, standard connection given off by the router.

Lightning Aftermath...Need advice.

Okay let me explain what happened, when the lightning storm was coming I turned off my modem. After a few minutes, I saw a spark coming from my computer area and I knew I was boned in some way or the other. So after the storm I checked my PC, it turned on fine and is working fine. Then I checked my Aztech modem connected to my PC and the ethernet light kept blinking. I know that ethernet lights blink rapidly when it has a connection but now my ethernet light just blinks for a few seconds, goes solid for a while then blinks again. Its like it cant find a connection to my PC. Then I thought it was just the modem, so I stuck my ethernet cable from my PC to a secondary modem I had in reserve. Once again the same problem occurred. I know that the internet in my house is okay because I can connect my laptop to the router and surf the web.

So guys whats my problem here, its not the modem and I know its not the internet connection...is it possible that the network card in my PC is fried?

Im surprised that there was no previous thread on this game, I bought the game from Gamers Hideout today and it is amazing, it has improved greatly on the previous Call of Juarez game and it is in my mind one the best shooters on the market, In one mission I was supposed to apprehend/kill a wanted felon but on the way i saw a family ebing held up by bandits and while on horseback i killed all the bandits with my rifle...the family thanked me and i helped myself to a new pistol. That experience made me feel like a bad ass cowboy. Everything you want from a Western game is here, you got your duels, gatling guns, babes, cannons, dynamite, horses, lassos and bows.

Pick up this game now, i have played like 6 hours non stop already...granted most of it is just me wandering around the desert and kiling bandits and killing outlaws for my reward as well as replaying certain missions especially one that requires you to go all Rambo in a cornfield . Also the story is one of the best i have seen in a videogame in a while.

Finally yeah there is multiplayer and from what i have heard it is pretty good. You got your team deathmatches and a cool rob the bank mode...

New Laptop HELP!

Hi guys, if you have been following an HP thread you might realize that i have been doing my homework on laptops for months now...

So far the top contenders are Sony Vaio CS, the Dell XPS M1530 and the HP DV-4 1137

I love all these laptops and have huge respect for all their brands. But im going overseas to Aussie to study and i want to avoid an unreliable laptop. i want a laptop that rarely if ever breaks down on me and i want one that has excellent performance for gaming(just from time to time.. )

So in your mind which is the most reliable and powerful of the laptops i mentioned here? Any help is greatly appreciated.

PS3 freeze

I was playing Uncharted just now and after an hour or so it just froze on me, my PS3 does not freeze in game all the time but when it does happen im scared senseless.

So my question is...

Is the occasional PS3 freeze something to worry bout?

Hey guys just now i was playing Warioware on My wii just now and all of a sudden it froze up and had this weird buzzing sound...

Now i admit, i have a modded Wii but i only play ori games...

and according to Youtube it happens to people without mods as well..

Im i supposed to be worried?

Hey guys,

as you may know that Orange Box is already out on the PS3 already. I already played this game on my 360 but i assure that this game is one of the best games on the market today..

Also as you may know PS3 is also considered the weakest port of the three other versions....that may be true but it still got very high recognition from other review sites, the technical errors only come for a short while...

I highly recommend you guys play Team Fortress 2!

Plus it has Portal...its min character is a chick with a portal gun

This game as you may know has an excellent pedigree...its made by the same guys who made the excellent timesplitters series AND most of them worked on Goldeneye for N64...One of the best games ever made...honestly when this game comes out...you guys should buy it...first off its exclusive to the PS3 guys here...second if we buy exclusive it will help Sony ...lastly...free multiplayer (and its very solid)....

The game will be released this November 19th(US)...

Hi guys!

I have been wondering why there is no VC thread here in the forum(if there is just close this thread for me )...anyhow in the Xbox forum there is a thread determining which Xbox Arcade game you should choose...im going to do the same here for the Virtual Console....my friend has several Wii points and doesn't exactly care about what he spends it on...so in other words i can download alot of games without my wallet being burnt out...

So i would like to start out with MY choice...here are the first games that i downloaded with 5000 points which i spent in less than one hour ...

SEGA GENESIS: 800 POINTS

One of my personal favorites.... granted i have yet to download the first one...but the second ToeJam and Earl game is filled with colorful level, highly intelligent platforming and some stuff ripped out of Sonic games like the cool BONUS missions....You objective in this game is to recapture all the earthlings that have invaded Toejam and Earl's planet, the earthlings here range from annoying little school kids to irritatingly tourists with cameras....What i meant by intelligent platforming is that not all is what it seems...sometimes little kids hide in trees...manholes can reveal treasures...trees can pop out treasures and so on and so forth. The platforming is not that fast paced...its nothing like Sonic or Mario but more of a Earthworm Jim kinda pace...meaning that its of medium pace....but still action packed...the environments are beautiful...not all characters you see on screen are enemies...there can be an alien bird flying across from you...the sky is a funky color and all of a sudden you can be transported into a bonus world which looks like a disco room gone mad...Also this game supports up to 2 players...so bring a friend to play it with you(always a bonus in my mind)

So this is what i have for the game: A....The highest it can get is an A+ but i just wished it can be slightly faster....but even then i HAVE to nitpick....no game is perfect...get this game now...highly recommended..

Streets of Rage 2:SEGA GENESIS :800 POINTS

Once again this proves that sequels can indeed be better than the original, but dont get me wrong...the first Streets of Rage is a great game as well. Anyhow back to the review. This game sports up to 2 players so you can bring in a buddy to help play the game...if you ever played a side scrolling beat em up Streets of Rage 2 is no different it has the same slow-ish pace of the genre but the game expects you to defeat several onscreen enemies at the same time, the graphics are VERY good, colorful, good textures and no sense of glitching whatsoever. Now...Streets of Rage 2 is not exactly the hardest game of all time....in fact its easy considering the fact that the AI is not exactly top notch....HOWEVER....the enemies come from everywhere and they nearly always outnumber you...expect to see 4 bikers coming towards you on their bikes trying to run you over...the techniques to winning the game are simplistic meaning that you only have few attacks like a kick,punch,flying kick etc...point is...dont expect to see any Hadoken power moves here...its a pure brawling game...however you do get a chance to use the cops with a bazooka to help you kill enemies...

So what do you think this game gets? Answer?>A B+ the reason for this being....first off i would have like to see some more fighting techniques...something like linking combos at several enemies would be nice...i would have liked to see some more character models....there only about ten or so in total but they try to vary themselves using different colors...i would have liked to see the game speed up a bit..it is too slow despite it being a side scrolling beat em up...and finally i just wished the AI was slightly better.....i want to fight enemies and bosses who can injure me....during the last boss fight i got out with hardly a scratch...

Bonk's Revenge:TurboGrafx-16 | 600 Points

Another sequel that is better than the original....Bonks Revenge is an excellent title sporting some lush and colorful graphics, as can be seen in the screenshot above...anyhow Bonk is little caveboy....or something...his job is to recover the other half of the moon which was stolen by King Drool....uhhhh....look....the storyline doesn't matter all that much BUT the gameplay is tough...it offers you the highest difficulty setting at first...because thats the only difficulty setting that lets you play out the entire game... ....also the game is of reasonable pace...meaning that its the right pace through out out the game...Bonks attacks are simplistic...a headbutt...though you can perform a few variations of the attack like a shockwave attack for example.

Summary: Great graphics, deep gameplay, a highly entertaining game and a game that rivals Super Mario all for 6 dollars(US)...what the heck are you waiting for??

Get this game now.....Grade: A

Holy Crap man, i love this game so much im willing to start and maintain a thread based on it, now this game is obviously a First Person shooter, but with a couple of twists, for one ammo has to be used intelligently meaning that if you do mange to run out you have to find for some more but dont worry though its not like Condemned where once you run out of bullets you have to use melee attacks, anyway another thing thats cool and unique is something call a plasmid which its essentially a variety of drugs meant to enhance several attributes like strength and speed but there are some plasmids which can used as an offensive weapon as well, the AGGRESSOR PLASMID will make nearby enemies go loco giving you a chance to run away in its insanity another plasmid allows you to release wasps at an enemy!!

The weapons will be of old school variety so dont expect too see any Hammer of Dawns here. Instead you will get revolvers and others like shotguns etc. Thing is you can easily modify them with extra ammo canisters, grips and what not, the weapons can be modified very heavily from its original form.

Now to the story which i know that most of you know so i wont get so deep into it..a man founded this great city under the ocean call Rapture where all the worlds elite can come to and prosper, it did but eventually a civil war broke out between Andrew Ryan(the founder of Rapture)and Fontaine(a greedy businessman) because over a slug that secretes pure stem cells(which was dubbed Adam) which is meant to help the people of the Rapture but instead disfigured them into mindless warriors. Ryan eventually won but the damage was done, now Rapture is damaged and suffers from various problems like low level flooding. The player(you) crashes into the ocean due to a plane crash and this is where your story begins....

Your enemies.

Not much is known at this point but this is the info..

AGGRESSORS: The former civilians of Rapture who got disfigured so badly both physically and mentally, they roam Rapture as insane warriors armed with bladed weapons waiting for their next victim.
Aggressors are also capable of sticking to ceilings and walls.

BIG DADDIES: These bad boys are huge and are armed with a variety of weaponry like drills and pneumatic objects. Their armor somewhat resembles large diving suits. Another thing is that these foes protect the Gatherers and wont harm you unless you are a direct threat to the Gatherers or the Big Daddies themselves.

GATHERERS: Also know as Little Sisters. When there was a shortage of Adam these little girls would literally suck Adam from the dead and through the use of their own bodies will turn Adam into a reusable form call Eve.

Guys Im in need of serious help here my 360 which had suffered from the three red lights of death was sent to the repair shops but the guy said there was no spare parts availble to them so they cannot repair the 360. They also said that I could wait for six months for spare parts but im not that patient. So anyone in this forum can point me in the direction of a place that can guarantee a good shot at repairing my 360 will greatly be appreciated..

Guys my parents spent nearly RM1500 on the 360 I really want it to be repaired.
I know i sound kinda crazy right now showing emotion for a piece of tech but that thing was a gift.

I really feel terrible and very hurt inside (no joke really). Guys help me please.

Look i have a Asian 360 but my buddy went to Europe and got a 30 there. Well fine but the thing was he doesnt know something called region coding.

So he either buys games that dont work on his system or region free games that are harder to come by nowadays.
I told him of his situation he was prety disappointed that his uncle(its a gift to him)shelled out hundreds of Euros for nothing. Granted he received it as a gift but he feels left out.

So im doing this on his behalf cause im his friend and I myself im clueless where to get PAL games. So any of you guys know which website delivers to Malaysia or a store that sells PAL games it would be apprciated.

BTW Amazon has PAL games but dont deliver video games to Malaysia.

Region coding kinda sucks dont you agree?

Okay we all know E3 right?

Yeah its been downsized, yeah no more booth babes and yeah it wont be big and flashy anymore.

But my point is Malaysia needs a show displaying video games (all platforms). A small one would be good enough. Look, the gaming community is growing and it would be cool if we had a show depicting upcoming games.

Look we have a show about metals, guns and cars. Wouldnt it be fair and reasionable to have a show dedicted to the field of gaming?

Your thoughts about this...

Yeah I know this thread has occured before but all the time people are aiming for huge monstrosities that replace your wall.

Cmon lah people see the price tag at RM30,000 they immeditely think its good. Granted you get what you pay for...Samsung has a decent mid-sized LCD TV under RM4000. But wait....RM4000 compared with a Sony Bravia! Surely enough the Bravia would win...Wrong!!!

Sony and (shudder)LG and other brands have good LCDs but Samsung is probably the best LCD Tv excepted by XBOX 360 magazines everywhere, used in E3 2006, DEMO PODS, ETc. Believe it or not many people do not know this.

So Ladies and Gentlemen leave your opinions here about what LCD tv you reaaly want and why...

And ummm if any of you do have a LCD TV regardless of brand. Just know this!!!!

Well not now lahhh. But still think about it. Come Holiday season(where some of us still ada Duit Hari Raya and ofcorse Christmas)there will be a tonne of new releases. PS3, Wii and great games for the 360. Okay okay maybe holiday season start sometime mid-november but still I for one saving up for Gears of War.

I feel like im all alone. I bought a new xbox 360 in June but I dont know how to connect to xbox live.

I know there are guys connected to Live already so can you guys show me? I live in Malaysia so I already know xbox live is not "official" here. But guys got around that problem somehow. So just show me and it would be greatly appreciated.

And if i do get connected Call of Duty 2 is a game i would like tho challenge everyone in.
