how do you deal with cold war

Me and her had an argument recently

After my last message to her in Whatsapp, she did not reply until now

I don't know shall I text her saying "hey how are things, tomorrow are you free for lunch?"

or just saying "we need time to cool ourself off"

about the argument, it's not about cheating nor I meeting someone else, it's just trivial matters about not able to attend to something, however I never say I want to do it, we can do it at a future time and date but not in 48 hours notice

so if I message her first, would that make me appear weaker

about that something, I better not reveal the details, it's hard to keep anonymyty in a public forum

wonder where are the jobs for mid-junior execs

I am in IT field relating to Cloud and DevOps

I am looking to explore around, only to find that many companies outside are only looking for senior lvl, if not team leads

although I know the salary offered for experienced DevOps can be as high as 20k, however their requirements are very stringent, lot's of hands on are required, with end to end knowledge on entire process is an advantage. Went for few interviews for these, find it struggling to answer the deep technical questions

my current credentials can only look for junior - senior lvl of employments, I don't need 10+k salary now, just need a platform to learn new stuffs, why isn't that hard to come by

it is very hard to source local Cloud and DevOps talents if you ask me, one could know very well on Azure, but he/she might not be familiar with AWS and vice versa; or someone is well versed in Terraform but not Ansible or Kubernetes, it is unrealistic to demand one to know every single products out there

which explains why certain vacancies in some companies are left open for months, the hiring managers don't seem to be bothered for the lack of manpower at all

Issue with notice period

I have just been informed about this situation, and I not sure if any HR experts / lawyers can attest to this.

Upon tendering resignation and started notice period, there are options to either provide written notice in advanced, or make payment in lieu of basic salary, or to contra with annual leave balance. This has always been a common knowledge among working people.

Now here comes the case, I have just discovered that in this peculiar company, there is an unwritten policy which stated that you can't fully contra your notice period with your annual leaves, this is due to the differences in the way they calculate the compensation rate and the deduction / penalty rate.

For example:

1) I have 10 days of leave balances, which I choose to cash out.
HR's calculation:

Your annual pay / 365 x 10 days (compensation by company)

2) I have no leave balance, and I choose to pay in lieu to reduce the notice period by 10 days, HR will make me pay:

Monthly salary / 22 days x 10 days (deduction from employee's end)

OR

3) I have 10 days of leave balances, I opted to contra it to reduce the notice period.

HR will:

Your annual pay / 365 x 10 days = A
Monthly salary / 22 days x 10 days = B

C = Final month salary + A - B

Of which C would be the amount for my final payslip at the company, before deducting EPF and income tax.

Ok, for TLDR, you think you can settle for early release of 1 day by contra your 1 day AL, but in this peculiar company, you can't, due to the difference of the calculations above, which means, your 1 day doesn't equate "their" 1 day, after contra with your AL, you still need to pay the penalty.

This is the first in my life time to encounter such company, please share if you have similar experiences, and is this even legal under Malaysian law?

I did not ever come across any such clause written explicitly in the employment letter.

Has anyone heard of this company before?

http://www.sangfor.com/

looks like a China based MNC offering services similar to Huawei

how is the work environment, culture, and benefits?

since it is founded in China, does it follow chinaman culture or western liberal style?
