So I had a conversation with other people about where guys would bring dates to. The most cliche response were: go to movies, follow up with a dinner. (because everyone watches movies so it's a no brainer?)

You know what?

Bringing your date to the movies is the worst place you can bring.

You are wasting 2 hours of your date having 0 interactions. You cannot be touchy touchy to the girl because she's not your girlfriend (at least not yet). Any attempts would be deemed as hamsap. After the movie you think you have 1 topic to start the conversation? Well, what if the movie suck? Or even if the movie is good, you learn nothing about her, and she learns nothing about you too. And... You don't stand out from the 99 guys that are courting her too.

New LRT monthly pass

We all know that the LRT price rise on 2nd Dec according to distance. Last time we just pay rm100 and can use for unlimited rides. But how does the new monthly pass works? Is it paid per trip or they will deduct a certain amount everyday whether you use or not? For someone who uses it to and from work, is it worth it compared to normal touch and go?

I'm wondering that if a company decides to abandon a certain project, what happen to the employees that is staff for that particular project? Will they be shift to other departmemt or will they be fired?

Company A

Went for an interview after clicking in jobstreet. Not expecting this job but after attending the interview, it is something to consider if there is no other offer as the boss provide me training in different areas.
- average pay
- small company
- environment seems ok

the boss seems so passionate about hiring me until ask me if i can work tomorrow, but he said want to get reference check 1st. that evening he messaged and said i "failed" the reference check. So i thought, ok loh... find another job.

Company B

my dream job! the interview offer came right after Company A said no to me... Of course i grabbed the opportunity, passed the test, attended 1st interview. Now waiting for 2nd interview, which is 2 weeks from now.
- higher pay
- better benefits
- MNC
- job scope? the one i wanted

basically if company B say yes to me, i would immediately say yes.

Now suddenly company A said i passed the interview, asked me to come for work on 1st Dec. Not a good feeling knowing that the boss didn't want me in the 1st place.

But there's still a long process to go if i want Company B to hire me. After 2nd interview still have 2 tests to go. I wonder if i should work in A for the time being?

dilemma... 2 months resignation notice

I've been working for my current company for 1+ year now, however i need to give 2 months resignation notice. I think sometimes it scares off the potential interviewers. My recent interview i ticked all the boxes, except the notice period. I can tell from his body language that he likes me, happy to have me, and we chat chat until he pops up the question of the notice period, i replied, 2 months... it gave him a shock... He did mention that if i couldn't get in the 1st batch, he would put me on hold for 2nd batch of hiring. (new branch opening, hence they need more staffs)

I'll be crazy if they didn't want me because of the notice period

Will you quit before securing a job if you need to give 2 months notice?

Degree grad not accepted in retail?

Hi, i'm a a degree graduated (not fresh), currently working in an office but i didn't like the job. I had deposit a number of resumes to different companies of since graduated. Mostly through jobstreet & sometimes through their own website. But it seems like mostly they don't even bother to interview. Only get to interview twice, but 1 got rejected due to location. She also said i'm overqualified, better off applying another position. She's worried that i won't stay long due to lower salary. I tried the other branches, deposited resume, but no luck for interview.

Last time I also did applied few when i finished diploma. One of them did call me and told me that their salary is RM1200 (year 2011), ask me if i still want the job or not...

So that means overqualified is also a problem?

EPF complain against employer

Has anyone here made a complain regarding employer not paying EPF? My ex boss didn't pay my EPF for the last few months so I filed a complain last year. Until now EPF still ask me to wait for investigations. I know the company is still on going, and I know the employer is always in KL, seldom go overseas so it shouldn't be hard to find the employer. Already given them all the proof, (payslips, declaration, offer letter). I'm starting to wonder... Are we able to get back our money?
