Hi. My i7 3770 seems to run on varying temperatures. The first few times it ran at about 90 degrees at IDLE. This was alarming so I changed the thermal paste and made sure the heatsink was fitted nice and tough, but that didn't make a difference. After like 10 times of trying this, and leaving it over night. Now the temperatures seem to go to about 50-65 idle and 80-85load. I'm still not satisfied. The fan speed is full, 2000RPM, i dont understand what the problem could be. Considering goign out and getting another cpu cooler, like deepcool or something.

Let me know if you have any idea how to fix this o.O

How to deal with smoky haze?

As the description says, how are you guys dealing with the haze? I have a severe allergy to smoke and every time I as much as open the window, my fever goes up to 102 or more and I start sneezing and coughing uncontrollably. Right now it's 104 because I just went down to get my mail :s
Facemasks dont really work since you're still breathing the same air. If anyone has any recommendations, please help me out, I've exams coming up and I really need to deal with this asap. :/

Will 7870 run on a 500w PSU?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of upgrading from 7770 to 7870 but I'm not too sure if my PSU can handle it.

Communicating with Malaysians

Hi everyone.
Before I start, I really didn't know which section to post this in and since this was the only one even remotely close to my topic at hand, I made the topic here.

Now, onto my concern. Let me start out by introducing myself, I'm a foreigner and I've been in PJ for a bit less than a year now. I'm not sharing my nationality since experience has taught me that people here tend to judge(not implying any of you do). Where I come from, we're not exactly known for our English skills but we still manage fairly well, I'm speaking of the uneducated lot. As for the educated ones, most of the people in my country speak English very well. Naturally, my English serves as my primary language too.

Coming to Malaysia, I found it very difficult to communicate with people. Regardless of a much higher education rate than my country, people here cannot understand English too well, even if they can, their understanding is severely limited. Moreover, most people choose to talk in either Malay/Chinese/Mandarin etc so one can't help but feel alienated. There is almost no way to communicate with the average Malaysian, let alone make friends. Those I've met who can speak English speak it as if it were a barrier to what they're accustomed to, as I'm sure it is. So, for the past year, I haven't had a single meaningful conversation with a Malaysian person and therefore, have not been successful in making any real acquaintances, let alone friends.

Keeping in mind, I'm a student here. The only communication I have with people is when I'm put into groups and therefore, I'm forced to be a part, but even that only lasts so long.

So, my question isn't about love or how to meet girls( this question would only apply if I could communicate with any girls to begin with), it's about how I can actually befriend people here. My mind keeps telling me I haven't met the right type of people yet, which may be the case, but how does one work towards that? I'm no party animal, especially being in a country where I'm not familiar with the locals. I was very exciting coming to Malaysia but ever since I came here, I feel I'm completely alienated from society, having just my own company.

Please keep in mind that I am not trying to generalise, I'm just speaking from my own experience and I wish not to offend anyone. I'm sure most Malaysians are fluent in English and are very friendly to newcomers.

With all this being said, I would like some input regarding the matter.

Upgrading, advice needed.

Hi guys, I'm going to be upgrading my rig in a few months time but before I do so, I'd like to gather some information regarding what to buy.

To start off, let me state that I'm somewhat of a noob when it comes to hardware, not completely but I don't know my way around technical stuff. I don't know much about overclocking and such stuff, I just need better performance for my resolution.

So, with that in mind, my current set-up is as follows:

Monitor: Viewsonic 20'' 1600x900 (My ideal resolution)
CPU: Intel Core i3 3220
Motherboard: ASUS P8H61-M LX
Memory: 4GB DDR3
GPU: Sapphire HD 7770 Overclock Ghz Edition
HDD: 500GB
Chassis: Gigabyte
PSU: Glacial 500W
OS: Windows 8

I'm in dilemma in regards to what to buy, upgrade to an i5 Ivy (35 something 34 something, I can't tell the difference lol) or wait for haswell to come out and buy that. Or in Contrast, I upgrade my GPU to, say, a Sapphire 7850? Or should I wait for the 8xxx series to release? I've also been given mixed opinions about my PSU being able to run it.

My budget is somewhere around 500-1000RM for now.

I'm more of a hardcore gamer, I like my FPS near 60 with high settings. I play Battlefield 3(which runs fine on my current settings from around 35-60FPS, I'd say avg on 45FPS) very often and other games in recent memory such as Bioshock: Infinite etc.

What would you guys recommend? Also, if possible, please recommend WHERE to buy these parts from either new or used, I've been in KL for only 8 months.

PC Building Advice

My last thread was deleted for some reason so I'll post again.

I have a budget of 1800 and I need to build myself a pc from the ground up. Note that this budget includes a monitor(I'll be needing an 18'')

Since I'm new to the country, I don't know where to buy all these hardware components at cheap prices. I'm situated in KD, PJ. Can you guys make recommendations as what I should buy? I'm primarily buying it for BF3. I'm torm between the HD7770 and the HD7750. Ivy Core i3 cpu. I don't know what mobo/psu or hdd to get(300gb is enough for me but I can't find any below 1TB :S)

So, could you guys please recommend what I should buy for my budget and WHERE I should buy the components for at a cheap price, I'm open to used parts as long as the store is reliable.
