I am using desktop for basic usage and play 1080p videos.

I'm poor and is looking for a processor that will last longest possible (basic usage). I believe that will be the one that is most overclocker friendly.

Sifus, please advise on a overclockable CPU

Mobo will be MSI, chipset dependent on advised CPU.

The last time I'm in touch with desktops is 2003 and now and I see 4 Generations of Intel chips (I am still trying to locate AMD CPU in my hometown, no luck so far)

Reading on the materials online, mostly outdated ones involving Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge. Haswell not much materials but reading up on LYN threads now.

I'm buying new desktop. My knowledge = year 2004.

CPU: Intel i3 Gen 4 (no choice in hometown)

Mobo: MSI B85-G43 (no choice in hometown)

GPU: Integrated / None

I need help with the following:

PSU: Amphere needed for 12V rail? I should be buying a Powerlogic casing with cap ayam PSU, will be checking details this weekend.

RAM: What chipset should I look for? From what I understand, Dual Channel for Intel setups is not significant.

FAN: What brand for CPU heatsink & fan + 12cm casing fan? I prefer a silent setup. No need controller for now. Will buy a powerful one when PC goes obsolete and I need to overclock or when GPU is added.

Q&A:
Quota - when will it be implemented?
A: No official or even rumuors of quota enforcement at this moment. In my opinion, it's due to only 250k Unifi users as opposed to 1.8mil Streamyx users. The first to have quota will be Streamyx with most users using 1Mbps, followed by 4Mbps (and also those who get 5Mbps due to no capping). Maxis has plans to enforce quota too, but this plan came in May 2012 with coverage same as Unifi, it will certainly take time to reach to the target users of even 100k. Besides, P1 has also launched fibre plans.

Does TM throttle Unifi downloads?
A: Yes, I'm a downloader and using 10Mbps TM Unifi, it can't reach beyond 1Mbps per server channel, e.g. Rapidshare, Mediafire, Uploaded, Filefactory, etc. (many are dead like Hotfile, Fileserve, Turbobit, but that's another problem).

How do I take advantage of 10Mbps then?
A: Download from more than 1 server channel, which stacks if using free server download managers like Jdownloader. Download using Bittorent which can reach full speed with 10Mbps.

What is the latency like for Unifi?
A: From my observation Unifi; 1ms without downloads down to 45ms with 8 concurrent downloads.
