Contract in an MNC Manufacturing company

Hi everyone.

Recently I have been offered a position in an MNC Manufacturing company.

As I just start looking for job, this is my first job offer.

So here goes my question. Is it.. truly fair to employees as being said by the employers?

JOB OFFER
1. Junior Contract Officer (what this means? lol. informally I am being offered a position of Planner, but this not indicated a planner post.. more to general post IMHO)

2. Salary.. basic quite okay for manufacturing industry.. RM2.2k LOL.. without any allowance.. but got OT.. RM10 per hours weekdays and RM8.50 during weekends.

3. same general benefit like other companies.. insurance, dental services.. bla bla bla..

4. here comes the things.. a CONTRACT for 1 year.. verbally they said, this contract functions as you are signed to serve them 1 year. If you decided to resign, you will have to pay for the remaining nonserve period. Means that if you resign after 6 months working, you will have to pay RM2.2k X 6 = RM13.2k , but they said, this is a win-win situation, let say if they fired you within the contract period, they will pay you also.

I am totally a newbie, fresh graduate, and so innocent. So can someone comment about this? For somehow I can feel that this is not.. quite fair to me. Given that their salary is not quite attractive.

Shell Recruitment Day 2013

I applied last 2 weeks, taken both 1st and 2nd assessment, the hard calculative 16 question in 18 minutes set (the final online assessment part) also i had taken. Until then no more update, waiting for their email.. but none received so far. Status in shell website is Under Review. Position applied is engineering.

So any candidates has already received result for the final assessment part? Just to fill up my curiosity..

I just applied for this position.. 5 minutes ago. Lol.

So I want to make connection amongs the candidates, discuss and anything to talk about this position.

From my research in this LYN forums about this position are as below:
- 100% office job ( they even ask question right after application whether u prefer work on office job or hands on job)
- starting salary from advert quite okay la for freshies.. 3k above.
- comfy environment, but not good for career advancements.
- high turn over rate.

So anyone with me?
