Where to get BRANDED connectors & cables?

Hi Guys,

I know many of you here are custom cabling gurus.
Just need some advice where to search for a couple of things i need.

I've went up and down PASAR ROAD a couple of times, and i haven't been able to find some of the cables nor connectors i want.

Such as

- Canare/Klotz/Mogami Cable
- Amphenol TS/TRS Connectors
- Switchcraft Minijacks
- Techflex Sleeves
- Belden Cat5/Cat6
- And some other gourmet audio stuff...

Some shops do sell the cables, but only in 100m drums.

Is there a particular shop in pasar that i haven't discovered yet that sells these goodies or do i have to look somewhere else?

I'm currently using umobile mifi 21 mbps.

I've had this problem ever since i had the modem. It comes and goes though. Every 5-10 mins after connecting, the connection will stop (it still says connected) but data is not moving. My signal is close to maximum.

After restart it get's going again. It's so darn annoying that this keeps happening, everytime i try call u-mobile i wait for half and hour and noone bothers picking up.

Now my data has completely stopped moving.. and i'm nowhere close to hitting my quota.

Is this a common problem, or is something wrong with my modem?

Sometimes i wonder why do i even pay them every month.....
I actually had to go out to a mamak to use the dam wifi.

Hey guys,

Going shopping for new headphones for work. I currently use the Grado SR225i which is basically for home listening purposes.

I do live sound gigs.. and soon to be broadcasting. Accuracy, flat frequency response, and good sound isolation are the goals.

My questions is which headphone is the best value for money, and why so?

1. Denon D2000
2. Beyer Dynamic DT 770 or 880
3. Shure 840 or 940

Hey Forumers,

The area i live in is relatively new, so no phone line has been built yet. Thus meaning no unifi or maxis fiberoptics like i was used to at my old place.

The broadband i'm using now is the umobile MIFI 21 mbps.
It only could get me 10mbps on the umobile broadband test, and only 5 mbps on speedtest.net
Ping is 60-80.

Also it's on a 5GB quota.. which i finish in like 10 days. It's quite a b**** when my download appetite is pretty large..

I like playing counterstrike.. and a ping over 40 is just impossible to play with.

Could you recommend me the best broadband dongle to use in puchong? Which is capable of gaming...

Acoustic Treatment for Home Studio

Hey fellow musicians/engineers!

Just wanted to share my DIY build of acoustic panels.

Specs of these absorber panels are 4' x 2' x 50mm
Fabrics used were solid black and designer black & white. Totally customable
I used RXL 60 for the absorbing material, here is the NRC

125Hz - 0.32
250Hz - 0.81
500Hz - 1.06
1000Hz - 1.02
2000Hz - 0.99
4000Hz - 1.04
NRC = 0.95

Usage of these panels are very broad!
- Jamming Studio
- Mixing Studio
- Home Theater Setup

The goal of these absorber panels are to absorb the frequencies so it won't be reflected back to the listener. This will improve clarity, stereo imaging, and punchiness. These panels can be mounted using french cleats... picture hangers etc... with a 1''-2'' air gap behind the wall to improve lower frequency absorption.
Will do a A/B sound and video test soon, for those who are interested!

The 12 i have made so far are prototypes, they only absorb mid's, high's and abit of the lows. Next build will be fatass bass traps/corner traps to kill those stray bass standing waves. Diffusors will also be built soon

Please let me know your opinions, so i can improve on future builds
