CAIA. Anybody?

CFA is becoming popular in Malaysia. How about CAIA? I saw many Linkedin Profile users are having this qualification but notice this is not so prevalent here.

who's taking this? Any classes for that in Malaysia? Thanks!

For those who are working overseas

I've graduated a few years back and it's always been my goal to work overseas. I never stopped trying to apply for any vacancies that I feel that they suit me. I can never count how many applications I have sent throughout these years but what I got were only 2-3 interviews and they never land me a job.

Back here in Malaysia, I never feel it's hard for me to land a job or get an interview. Every time I feel so envious when I see more and more of my friends moving their career overseas. They do not necessarily have a better qualification and experience than me but somehow they can get a job.

I do not know what I did wrong or there is something called "fate" but I will keep trying until I successfully land a job out of this country.

So for those of you who r working overseas, pls share how did you get your job after a while in Malaysia in the first place. For those who study overseas and subsequently worked there, pls do not vote.

Also, would appreciate your feedback if you think you are fairly/over/under-paid compared to the local counterparts there.

Robert Walters salary survey

We know Jobstreet's salary survey is inaccurate. Today I found this one:

http://www.robertwalters.com.my/wwwmediali...13-malaysia.pdf

If the published figures are correct, I'm severely underpaid. Somemore the figures do not include bonus yet

For eg: 1-3 years Analyst in I-banking gets 90K to 22K per annum (base salary), that translates into RM7.5K++/month
1-3 years Analyst in corporate banking gets 60K to 180K per annum, that translates into RM5K++/month
6+ years in CF gives you RM140K - RM 210K per annum, that means RM11K per month

Anyone can verify this? I am talking about average range here, not outliers.
stock market in Singapore

Having some experience in Malaysian stock market, I'm now trying to learn about Singapore stock market. So would like to ask sifus outthere a few questions:

1)If I am new to the stock market in Singapore, how should I start? Any forum/websites that Singaporeans like to follow?

2)How is Singapore stock market behaviour compared to Malaysia? For eg: A lot of Malaysian companies are government-linked, run by cronies. Hence, knowing who's who quite important...How about Singapore? And also the market volatility.

3)If I were to pick one sector, which one is good to start with?I saw a lot of people are discussing about S-REITs. How about other sectors as well? Which sector is easier to start with? ie. easier to know the business, analysing the financials.....

So my assumption is, Singapore stock market is much more global and followed by investors, so the market must be more efficient? Is it realistic to set a target annual return of 15%-20%?

Guys, would you be submissive to your gf?

I have a friend, she is staying together with her bf. They have been together for quite a long time (>5 years). Basically, her bf pays for her every bill, rental and expenses.

Her boyfriend treats her super nice, and like super submissive to her. My friend usually works very late, the bf would stay at home and wait for her to come back, only then they go to dinner. (sometimes it's like 10pm or 11pm). At home, the bf does most of the housework. For example, the bf cooks for her and washes all the dishes. They bf sweeps the floor, does the laundry etc.

Sometimes they go to small arguments. The the bf will stay silent and my friend will be screaming at him...

I'm quite surprised to learn this. Esp for a guy with earning power to be submissive to a girl like that (usually the other way round). But they seem to be quite happy about that.

Guys, how do you treat your girls?
