            <title>Stuck in Singapore Property Dilemma</title>
            <link>http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5014515</link>
<description>Hi guys, earlier in the year, prior to COVID 19, I had the decision of buying my 1st property. I am a Malaysian working in Singapore. I found a 2nd hand house in Bukit Indah that I felt good about, hence I made the offer of intent to purchase it thru my agent. The house is a corner lot terrace in bukit indah, JB, that was listed for 580k, but I managed to negotiate it down to 530k. My letter of offer included a earnest deposit of 10k. This was on 2nd March 2020. However as you know, shortly after, Malaysia implemented MCO and I have not been back to Malaysia since. My agent contacted me a little while later asking if I&amp;#39;m ok to sign the LO and SPA, but I informed him that I wished to do so once I&amp;#39;m back in Malaysia. I told him what is the use if I am not able to physically collect the keys and possession of the property. However, recently, my agent messaged me saying that the owner wants to close the deal by this month, or else my deposit will be forfeited. Means he wants me to sign the LO and SPA and somehow come out with the deposit while I&amp;#39;m in Singapore. Can the owner do so? Is there a way for me to halt things till travel is allowed. My company also doesn&amp;#39;t allow travel, and doing so will result in loss of income, and difficulty in even coming back to Singapore for work.&lt;br /&gt;</description>
