Hi, noob here, may i know how saving accounts works? i mean how they calculate the interest. Why not FD since the interest in saving account is lower?

let's say the interest is 2% p.a for example. and i put 1k in it. so i will get 20 per year? what if i withdraw/add money in it? can someone guide me on how it works? and compared to FD, whats the differences? thanks
