Asus N53 Laptop Issues

Hi,
recently bought an Asus N53 Core i7 notebook with 12GB or DDR3 RAM for RM3400. This model is suppossed to support up to maximum 16GB of RAM, but I have been hearing issues from previous buyers that the laptop gives problems when it's upgraded to 16GB. It can only support up to 12GB. Any reason why this happens & do you know what kind of problems this model encounteres when the RAM is upgraded to 16GB? Are you happy with your purchase? Blocking Phone Number On My Phone

Hi All,

I need your help & suggestions. I wish to block a certain person's phone number so that he/she cannot call my mobile phone or send me SMSs. Currently I'm using Maxis Post-paid service. I went to Maxis HQ to ask them to help me block a certain number from calling or msging me, but they don't have such a service available.

Since I have a Sony Ericson Elm TM mobile phone, they suggested that I go back to Sony Ericson to ask if they have a special software application which I can install into my phone that has such a service. Can any of you please advice if there is a software that I can download & install that can allow me to block any incoming calls & SMS from a certain mobile number?

Anyone know where I can obtain quality traditional Ayurvedic medicine in the Klang Valley on the cheap? Pls don't refer me to Himalaya Herbal franchise as their herbs are way too expensive. I'm looking for an Ayurvedic herbalist that is very knowledgeable about making compound herbs for general health & well-being & can also give helpful suggestions on herbs. Thanks in advance.

Hi friends,

I'm looking for a really small, portable mobile device (not a mobile phone as I already have one) that enables me to :

surf the Internet @ a wi-fi spot
watch videos
play music
built-in digital camera to snap pictures
all the normal PDA functions
relatively big storage capacity (20-30GB)
Able to gain access to the vendor's website to download new free applications/programs for my mobile device

Budget is RM800-RM900. I don't care what brand the mobile device is. As long as it has the above mentioned features & is durable, long-lasting, reliable & doesn't break down too easily. Another function would be a GPS tracker, but this is not so important.

I'm looking for any outdoor/survival shops in the KL & Selangor area that sell camping/survival gear equipped for Jungle survival, etc. I'm looking to buy jungle knives, hammock, flint, flares, wire snares, wire saw, tent, camping napsack, jungle trekking boots, sleeping bag, portable stove, fishing hooks, electrolyte packs, water purification tablets, whistle, flash light, etc. I searched on Google, but didn't come up with any useful leads on these kinds of shops in KL.

Urgent!-Help, my PC's OS Can't Start Up!

Hi all,

I'm hoping you can help give me some suggestions on what to do. My current desktop PC has 2 physical harddrives. A C: & D: harddrive. My WinXP Pro OS is installed in the C: drive & each harddrive is 200GB in size.

Today, when I started up my desktop, it would not boot into WinXP. I tried popping in my original WinXP Pro CD & boot from CD, but no success.

Both my harddrives have really massive video files stored in them that I have not backed up yet. So I'm thinking of buying a 500GB harddisk & copy all the contents from both C: & D: drives before re-installing Windows on my C: drive.

Is there any other alternatives to this? Please help as I need to know soon.

I'm looking to buy a 1 terabyte Serial ATA II harddisk for my desktop PC. Do you know if Lowyat Plaza sells a 1 terabyte harddisk? How much is it? I'm looking at either Seagate Barracuda or Western Digital or Maxtor harddisk.

Please, if anyone knows which shop in Lowyat Plaza sells such a large harddisk capacity, let me know.

I recently attended Panasonic's technology fair on everything High-Def, from the famous Varicam, to the P2 Cam, to HD LCDs/Plasmas, DLP projectors, editing suites, etc. this fair was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convenction Center, Malaysia from 15th-17th March 2007

I also shot most of the exhibits there with my own AG-DVX100A PAL camcorder in 25progressive.

The glass panel that people use as a touch screen to activiate menus is actually composed of millions of tiny semi-conductors embedded into the glass, that senses when & where a finger presses on it. The image of the screen is actually projected unto it using a DLP projector.

Cleaning PC's Motherboard & Internal Parts

Hi all,

I've been having my desktop for more than 7 months now & have not cleaned the inside of the PC. I'm sure by now a great deal of dust has accumulated on the motherboard & on the internal components.

I want to know the best method to specifically remove dust from the motherboard & internal components. Since static electricity is a real enemy of electronic circuits would you strongly advice against using a soft paint brush to remove dust as this could create static charges?

What about compressed air in a can? Are they good for blowing dust away? Can the force of compressed air damage any sensitive PC components inside? Is there a recommended distance I should hold the air compressor can away from the motherboard?

I've read on the Internet that PC hardware experts strongly advice against wiping the PC's exhaust fan blades because the bearings attached to these fans are so sensitive that you could accidentally knock them off alignment & the fans will become noisy as a result. Is this true?

How else should I remove dust from my PC's internals? Thank you very much in advance.

I am the proud owner of a DVX102A & it is my prized possesion right now.

If there are DVX owners in this forum, then perhaps we could think of starting a local, Malaysian forum (just like www.dvxuser.com) to discuss anything regarding our DVX cameras.
