I'm looking to improve the sound quality coming out from my macbook.
currently, not many items are in the market that is offering any 5.1 or 7.1 solutions for mac systems.
one of the best deals i could find is the Griffin Firewave which is being discountinued and Griffin has cut the price down from USD 99.99 to only USD 29.99...
Would just like to ask any other mac users here if they have any external audio solutions to recommend.. of course being reasonable as well and not something that costs 1/4 of my macbook or something...
Might ask my sister to get the Firewave for me if all else fails...
But until then, I would still like to look for alternatives
Feel free to suggest any solutions that u guys have come across..

PSU problem ?

I recently purchased a new Sapphire ATI HD2600XT along with a CM extreme power 430W PSU

installed both, everything working fine.

However, when i shut down my PC, the PSU and fans remain on with the power LED and HDD LED always lit. Windows has fully shut down and i have to press and hold the power button to off it.

Same thing happens if i try to restart the computer. after windows has shut down, the PSU and fans still remain on till i press the reset button myself

could it be the PSU or my motherboard grounding ? cause my previous PSU had problems. something was shorting it i think.

As some of you may already have heard, there will be a successor to the asus P525. First codenamed Pegasus, it won the iF Product design award 2007. Asus has announced this model as the P526

And as with all new Asus PDAs, this will spot a built-in GPS chip

Given below are the posted specs and features of Asus P526 by GPSAndCo:

(1) Screen: 2,8″ TFT LCD with 65 000 colors and a resolution of 320 X 240 pixels
(2) Integrated SiRF III GPS chip and integrated GPS antenna
(3) Memory: 128 MB ROM/64 MB RAM
(4) Quand band GSM, GPRS and EDGE
(5) OS: Mobile Windows 6 (Crossbow)

All looks great but i'm dissapointed with the CPU. The P525 was doing fine with the Intel proc at 426MHz. I was really looking forward to this phone because it has everything I need including WM6 (Crossbow). But upon looking at the CPU, if they were to make it, that would draw me away from buying one.

As can be seen in the pictures, the joystick has been replaced with a jog dial on the left wall of the handset. The design is also much cleaner now thanks to relocated buttons. The P525 did look a bit messy especially around the keypad area due to the amount of buttons it had.

oh, and this PDA phone is thin. REAL thin. Only measuring 15mm in depth.

The phone is expected to be released somewhere between April and May 2007.

UPDATE #1

- Phone will come with an Intel XScale 270 32bit Proc clocking at 416MHz
- The phone will have 802.11N
- No flash for the camera

Latest Asus PDA models for 2007

For those of you who have heard of the Asus Pegasus, it is now renamed as the Asus P526 and is the P525's successor.

The Asus 526 will be only 15mm thick and will spot a GPS chip like all new Asus PDAs. Rumoured to have EDGE, it also has the old features of the P525 such as WiFi, Bluetooth, 2.0MP camera. The 5 way joystick has also been removed and replaced with a Jog dial located on the left side of the handset. The design of the P526 also looks much cleaner with less buttons crowding the front of the handset. Launch dates are unknown so far.

For those who have spotted the P735 in Asus Support Website, be ready for the P535's successor. With almost all the same features, the P735 will support 3G and will have a front VGA camera. And as the predecessor, the P735 will not have a keyboard and will only rely on the touchscreen. It is also believed to have the same processor as the P535. The P735 is under testing and is to be launched March 2007

Specs looks promising and definately better than the O2 atom exec and Atom Zinc on paper. But since the Atom Zinc has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, it would be unfair to compare with the P535. Closest O2 product is the Atom Exec.

The Asus P535 is available in White or Silver.
Personally, the white looks much better than the boring silver and white seems to be the new black these days thanks to iPods

Expected price is around the RM2500-3000 area

but other than that, looks good... more ROM than the asus
tho some may dislike cause no EDGE, no FM radio, no 3G
