PC problems...

First of all, it started with the PC hang or auto restart after hours of use or sometimes even before it manage to load windows. I tried to scan with Norton Antivirus but nothing found. All this will happen almost every day. But I've been quite busy with my works lately & don't even bother to look for solutions. After almost a month of encountering this problem, last Sat it totally couldn't start at all cos even before it load Windows, BSOD will appeared with the problem "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". I tried booting up using Safe Mode but still that BSOD appeared. I tried to google for solutions and found out that I can actually solve it by using Windows XP CD to do Repair by pressing R. But after I reboot it, it showed "NTLDR is Missing, Press any key to restart".
I tried to do "fixmbr" but it still remained the same. And it seems like the partition on C drive was reduced or lost… I don't even know……

I've tried rebooting using Knoppix & managed to load the Windows. But when I tried to backup my files to my USB pendrive, it will definitely hang right after 30 seconds during the transfer. I just want to get all my files back but I don't want to replace any of the hardware anymore cos I planned to buy a new PC as this current one is already 8 years & it's been giving me headache all this while…
Anyone here can provide me with any solutions to back up my files?
