Stamping fees when more than one rental amount

Hi, if a tenancy agreement is made for 5 years with a different rental amount for 2 years and a higher rental for the next 3 years, how can we calculate the stamping fees?

For example,
Month 1-24 = RM 1500
Month 25-60 = RM 4000

The guides I find online calculate the stamping duty based on one year of rental. How do we calculate when the yearly rental changes over the term of the agreement? Any clues?

Not sure how the card info got leaked I already called the bank and the card canceled.

RHB personal loan to get credit score

Hi,

I am thinking about applying for rhb personal loan, 5k for 12 months to get a credit score. I don't currently have any loans or monthly payments, other than Hotlink Postpaid.

Will I be able to get a loan from RHB for a year? I don't need it for anything, I just want to get a good credit score. I already have a car, so I don't want to get a car loan to get credit score.

Using a different trade name instead of business

Hi,

I was wondering whether it is possible to use a different trade name online instead of using business registered name? Or should I just register another sole proprietorship for the trade name I want to use?

So let's say I have a trade name ABC right now, can I use XYZ when reading online, and giving out invoices (ofc I'll add owned by ABC in those invoices)

For some reasons I don't want to change the name of ABC but at the same time I don't want to publicly use that name other than in legal documents, invoices etc. So is this possible?

I'm looking to buy a 50 to 55" TV below 2k. I have a few choices but I think these are the best value ones.

Hi,

I bought a galaxy s9+ from lowyat today. It was unsealed box (sealed back with the extra white sticker that Samsung provides in the box. I didn't notice it when I was buying).

I came back home and checked the warranty by sending imei code to Samsung. It turned out the phone was registered on July last year.

It's a new phone, with all the side protectors and everything. Still running Android 8.0.

When I was buying a note 9 last year, the sales person of a dealership did say that most boxes were unsealed for warranty registration because Samsung is running a promotion.

Should I go back and ask for a replacement? Or can the receipt be used as proof for warranty claims in the future?

1) Can a Malaysian Company (Sdn Bhd) hold shares in a foreign company (in a UK Ltd)?

2) Can a Malaysian Sole Proprietorship or LLP hold the shares?

3) How much will it cost to run a dormant Sdn Bhd in Malaysia? The Sdn Bhd will do no business in Malaysia for now, and it's only asset will be the shares it hold on the UK company.

Is rope towing a normal car using a 4x4 or SUV legal? I couldn't find any answer on Google and also checked the RTA 1987.

FedEx gave high freight charges to Customs

Hi,

I recently bought a few items from US and shipped it using FedEx. The total value for the items were 32.95 USD (4 Car Rim Center Caps + 1 book, both over 30 years old). I paid around $36 ($35.98) for shipping with insurance via FedEx (I used MyUS to consolidate my packages). So the total value is around $68.95 ~ RM 281.50, which is way below the RM 500 limit). I was charged RM 106 for customs. FedEx has given me a receipt from customs asking me to pay RM 106. They stated that the freight charge was over RM 500 and the total value was RM 670 so my rim caps got taxed 25%, the book wasn't taxed.

I paid around RM 155 for shipping (with conversion fees) and I have proof for it. The items already came with a invoice from MyUS with their value.

Even though its about RM 80 more, the total value still is below RM 500. What are my options here? I called FedEx customer service yesterday and they told me their (freight charges department??) will call me on Monday. I could opt to pay the RM 106, but I rather not.
