Looking for something small to put in the room instead of a large casing therefore looking to build a micro or mini ITX comp. Currently playing overwatch. I do not need much upgrades in the comp as I do not overclock. Just basic watching movies and shows, playing some average games on Steam, working on word docs. Generally would want a pc that can last me for the next 3 to 5 years hopefully? 5 years is a stretch but trying to be hopeful haha.

Back in May, ModNation Racers came to the PlayStation 3 and ushered in the ability to create your own karts, racers and tracks. The world rejoiced, and we here at IGN loved it -- except for its lengthy load times. In fact, a lot of people hated waiting for stuff to load, the inability to invite friends to XP races, and a few other things.

ModNation Racers is fixing those problems next week.

Yes, the much-anticipated patch that United Front Games has been talking about since the release of ModNation Racers is coming next week and it's tweaking a whole bunch of stuff so that the game feels better than ever. Just what does that include?

Well...

Slashed Load Times
Yes, there are still going to be load times, but Sony is reporting that in some cases those loads will be 50 percent faster.

Casual Difficulty FTW
A lot of folks dug the gameplay in ModNation Racers, but they were getting pwned by the game's AI-controlled opponents; those computerized bastards never gave Player 1 a break! Well, this patch introduces Casual Difficulty Mode. This should give people who just want to have some fun the chance to do so without having to worry about hurling a controller after getting sideswiped in the third lap.

Friends with XP Benefits
Racing in XP Races and Series is key to earning experience points and leveling-up online. However, as it stands, you can't invite your friends to XP outings. It kind of sucks the fun out of your multiplayer romp. Well, next week, that'll be a thing of the past. This patch allows you to invite your buddies to races and series, so go level grind!

Death to Hot Lap Cheaters
Apparently, this patch will fix a bug that allowed players to cut through tracks and post ridiculous times in the online Hot Lap section. Only a few more days to steal the spotlight, kids!

The Ultimate Collector
Player cards -- the profile showing what you've whipped up -- will now display all of you creations and not just some of them.

Get Online Faster and Stay There
United Front Games is also fixing MNR so that you'll be able to jump into online races faster than ever. The developers say that this has been done by removing "the online game room from the ModSpot." On top of that, the server's been upgraded to help get rid of those pesky disconnects people were having to deal with. We'll see how that works next week.

Attain the Unattainable (Challenges)
United Front Games has listened to all of your ranting and raving and honed in on three challenges that it agrees are just too damn tough. When you download the patch, expect different completion conditions on the Devastator takedown on Wild Run, the Devastator takedown on Modobahn and the "sideswipe three opponents on the cliff side" task on Fracture.

The Tin Bucket item will be unlocked for everyone! Hooray!

Yet another BSOD problem

This is yet another Blue Screen Of Death problem

how it happens? well .... a blue screen quickly comes up and my computer restarts .... cant see a thing on what the blue screen says

seems like it happens at LEAST once a day as i leave my computer on 24 hours ... once windows restarts ... it has that windows sending report error.

could it be the windows installation went wrong? ... mind you i'm using original winxp home

im using a seagate hdd 500gig. this hdd had a firmware problem amongst many other seagate models (for some particular batches). but i flashed it to fix the firmware problem. before i flashed it, ive already had the problem of BSOD.

now question is ... shud i just ghost my hdd to a new hdd ....?? need to get a new hdd first though

the BSOD comes USUALLY when it's idle ... but recently when im surfing ... it just goes blue and restarts itself. im afraid this might affect data on my 2nd hdd. primary hdd is holding my O/S and mp3s ... secondary is holding my movies/tv shows

im not sure whether the constant restarting will affect the data on my secondary hdd

any thoughts?

My budgets probably around 2.5k to 3k

I wanna get one 22' widescreen with HDMI support which probabaly costs around RM1k

the rest is anything ... as long as what I'm paying for is not to cheap and not too expensive ... basically put it this way... no proton ... no mercedes ..

usage of the comp is probably for light gaming - dota ... work - word/excel related ... keeping photos .. view photos ... watch movie ... simple user le .. no extensive

im thinking of getting the lowest end core 2 duo processor but a mid range mobo to support future processors

then min 2gig ram

graphics card im flexible as long as its value for money... last one i got was g4ti 4200 64mb .. that was rather value for money back in those days

casing and power supply that one no need recommendation le .. that one up to preference only

soo ... anyone with good value for money buys out there?

Comp Won't Start Up

Im using Asus P4PE ... its abit old yes i know ...
Samsung 17' Monitor
Cap Ayam Casing with the included Cap Ayam PSU
Processor is P4 2.0A

The rest is probably irrelevant

My comp was able to startup all the while ... until one fine day i pushed the on button ... it just couldnt start up
The cap ayam PSU is able to connect my monitor to it. So my monitor says nothing to display. Thats alrite ... meaning my psu is ok ... i think

My mobo has this lil green light on it ... and its always on ....

i push start button ... nothing happens ... monitor still can powerup

i suspected MAYBE its the casing power button? so i switched casing ... and pushed the start button .. still could not power up

hence i switched PSU ... the lil green light on mobo is still on ... then i pushed start button ... still could not power up ... monitor still shows nothing is displayed

so i suspect probably motherboard or processor problem..

anyone else care to share or help me troubleshoot? ... the age of my mobo and processor is ... well .. not ... around .. this era already ... haha so i hope i still can salvage it by replacing the mobo or processor ... OR the casing ... if not then worst case scenario is jsut bloody hell get a whole new comp
