2017 KIA Optima GT or 2016 BMW 320i F30 FL

Hey guys, if you were to have a budget of 100-120k, which of the two you'd go for?

Optima GT
Pros
- powerful engine, great torque
- very planted at high speed (200km/h). Not that I'll go that fast but 160-180km/h on highway is absolutely comfortable. Cruises like a ship.
- decent interior
- panoramic roof
- spacious
- comfortable seats, like really comfortable
- not much but kinda like it's functional air vent at the front bumper haha

Cons
- horrible FC. 70L tank can only go up to 380km in city. Mix of highway and city is only around 450km top.
- heavy for its class
- scarcity of spare parts. Heard it's only about 500 units were sold on our shore.
- handling isn't that great. Feels a little gimmickry and not as connected

320i
Pros
- good looking car. Love the LCI lighting
- decent FC
- good power for its size. Torque is great for normal driving.
- great handling
- reliable ZF tranny
- spare parts are always easily available and isn't as pricey
- a little bonus for BMW badge snob? Lol

Cons
- dated interior
- prone to have minor issues here and there with the silly and unreliable sensors. Especially speed sensors.
- typical conti engine issues like coolant, gasket etc.
- B48 tends to have a part at the bottom of the engine that get rusty easily on Malaysia weather. Quite a costly fix too.
- sticky plastics. But it's an easy and cheap fix anyway

There. Still in a dilemma between the 2. Let me know if you have any suggestions within the budget. Only sedan, turbocharged and C/D segment. Bonus would be sunroof haha.

Kia Cerato Koup 1.6T

Hey enthusiastic fellows, current/past owners and fellow experienced Kia/Hyundai 1.6 TGDI

kind of interested in Cerato Koup, and been putting it on my list lately. So just wanted to asked about the reliability of Kia/Hyundai 1.6 TGDI engine and some questions of its entirety.

Pretty sure they share the same engine as many other Hyundai models, I wonder hows the reliability of engine especially the turbocharger. Does it usually have much issues like conti cars? Are there any repetitive issues from its engine?

Other than that, is ther any non mechanical parts like sensors parts that I should be mindful about?

As for the wear and tear spare parts like lower arm, bushes, bearings, I'm not sure if they're hugely shared with the same gen Cerato. Cause when it comes to parts, I'm afraid that it'll be an issue sourcing for it.

I reckon transmission shouldn't be much of an issue as it's using the 6-speed conventional automatic. And and I've asked my mechanic friend saying that Kia/Hyundai CA GB is good as a Toyota's GB (true ah?). But he doesn't have much comment about Koup as it's pretty rare.

Any advice and feedbacks are very welcomed

Visited my friend's house earlier and me and my friends both park nearby at the same spot, it's a landed residential area with no white nor yellow line around the place we parked then kena saman

Thing is when I was paying for my saman via their website it states my saman is RM30 whilst my friend's is RM20.

How come got difference one ah?

Hey guys, anyone here used Scrut before? Tried to search one of the car's VIN but its not available.

Is there any other alternatives? Like local provider. Saw some alternatives but its from US or whatnot, and its charging a hefty USD150 for the full report too.

Since Scrut is charging RM50 for each report, wondering if there is any alternatives that charge around RM50-100 for the report.

Just wondering if anyone tried undervolting their i7-3630QM CPU? Since its not available for Intel's XTU and read some on other forums stating that it has been BIOS locked. So would need you experience to advise further...

Outdoor water filter replacement

Anyone has contact for sand outdoor water filter replacement?

Also, has anyone replaced it before? So far I surveyed the prices are around 300-350. And oddly all these people are like unwilling to do it lol.

Mine is stainless steel casing so currently not planning to change the whole thing, though fibre casing set is only 500 new. Thus needed to change the sand filter as it started to clog... Searched around here and couldn't get any contact either.

Is it okay to use drinking distilled water like the ones from Spritzer or any other brands? or we can just use RO water from SeaMaster for mixing it up with antifreeze car coolant?

The French company that owns Peugeot and Citroen has struck a 2.2bn euro (£1.9bn) deal to buy General Motors' European unit, including Vauxhall.

GM Europe has not made a profit since 1999 and the deal has raised fears about job losses at Vauxhall.

The UK factories at Ellesmere Port and Luton employ about 4,500 people.

With GM's Opel and Vauxhall operations, PSA Group would become the second largest carmaker in Europe, behind Volkswagen.

In a statement, Carlos Tavares, chairman of PSA's managing board, said: "We are confident that the Opel/Vauxhall turnaround will significantly accelerate with our support, while respecting the commitments made by GM to the Opel/Vauxhall employees."

PSA said it would return Opel and its Vauxhall brand to profit, and expected to make savings of £1.47bn per year by 2026, with most of the cuts made by 2020.

Mr Tavares told the BBC that he trusted the Vauxhall staff to work in a "constructive manner" with PSA to improve their performance.

"As long as we improve the performance and we become the best, there is no risk they should fear."

Is PSA that rich? And will it turn Proton into a better brand if it really acquire Proton?

More expensive air filter

Is it true that K&N air filter will give better fuel consumption and increase in HP & torque? lol

And what about this "carbon" air filter. Does it do better filtration when in-taking dirty air from outside?

Thought of trying the "carbon" filter. But I don't quite believe what the mechanic said to me, thus need you guys to enlighten me with your experience

I know her for some time, about 5 years? As we used to be course mate, go to class together, makan together and hang out together with a group of friends.

So this particular girl was dating a guy (drives an Altis) who is a rich kid when she was having her degree, then broke up after 2 years or so.

Then one day just 3 of us came out and minum, my other friend asked her what sort of guy shes interested now as shes still single and I know quite a few guys I know from college were making advancement after her, and she told us rejected all of them except one guy (drives an Persona), surprisingly.

Macam gooding leh. 1.6 GDi with 201hp, and its c-segment, so its a direct competitor to Civic Turbo

Almost 15% faster than FC turbo. Interior seems good too
