Seagate FreeAgent ext HD inresponsive; need HELP!

Hi all,

My trusted Seagate FreeAgent ext HD 3.5 has suddenly not working.
When I switch on the power, the LED (the indicator if it is switched on or not) simply did not emit light as usual.

Could it be the adaptor's fault? if it is, can I use any laptop adaptor to test it?

Or, is it simply the HD itself has 'died'? How can I test this hypotheses?

Ive been using it for 3 years now, as a backup copy. So, I got heaps of precious stuff inside it.

Please help me!!
