improve peformance in video editing and image editing

Original spec - cpu i7 920
ram 6gb

upgrade to

spec A - cpu i7 3820
-ram 6gb

spec B - cpu i7 920
- ram 12gb

if i upgrade to ether spec A or B from the ORIGINAL, which spec will show significantly improve in rendering or post rendering or video converting or image editing.
using after effect, premier pro, sony vegas. working with m2ts* video format. m2ts is full hd video usually up to 1gb per file or more.

i wonder if this is the place to ask this sort of question. if so please do provide some information on the total or single price i can sell this full rig. thx

guys, i wanna ask if any of you guys have opinion regarding my gc problem.
my gtx 260 gc crash when i did furmark vga stress test in less than 10 sec
i wonder whats is the problem
i still can use it normaly in daily life without problem
e.g watching video, render, and all.
can play need for speed the run but with low res @ 1024 but sometimes crash
when i say crash, i meant that the display just turn in some random single color
e.g red, sometimes green, blue, or any other colour
so any idea?
