Which media player for avi files in Yosemite?

Hello everyone

I updated to the latest Yosemite in my macAir. Everything went fine.

Until someone sent me avi video files. It cannot play under quicktime so I downloaded VLC latest version 2.1.5 dmg.
Then when my brother took my usb stick off without properly ejecting, the vlc hang and refused to stop searching.
Nothing responded so I press the power button on the keyboard and finally it shut down.
I restarted but not my VLC have disappeared.

If VLC is not fully compatible with Yosemite then , what is the best player to play avi video?

Am I mistaken? Ipad A7 with retina not here yet?

I was looking at Apple Malaysia store. I cant find the latest Ipad Air there. I was going to get it for my mom for xmas but I can see only the old models.

Btw, which audio system would suit a MacAir latest model? I like full sound not tin can type. Any suggestions?

My search for suv or car within rm135 and below:

I travel long distance sometimes. On the weekends I have to carry 4 people to the supermarket.

I know I can buy secondhand Bmw or Mercedes (merc ML series, Bmw x5, E60 series) but they are about 7 + years old. Is this a good or bad idea?

Two friends of mine had Vw and another have Audi tt and both of them regret badly. Parts are more expensive than merc. Some parts have to wait! It is ok if I have second car but I don't.
So I favor very reliable models and affordable /easy to get spare parts.
My mom pestered me to get Hilux vnt but my dad prefer a secondhand e60 bmw. A friend ask me to look at the subaru xv. But I think my priorities should include toughness and reliability as I am sick of the bad roads and floods and costly spare parts.

Which models can recommend for me?

My 4 year old old Toshiba GRY63 Glass door fridge is giving problem like freezer door hard to close , etc I noticed my electricity bill has gone up by rm30 monthly since it came into my home.

Which new models should I consider buying?

So far I am keen on Electrolux, LG, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Samsung RSA1 NTIS and Bosch KDN56.
I am not interested in auto ice water or automatic ice maker because they take up so much space inside the fridge.

Anyone here had problems with Bosch or Electrolux warranty service before?

Can anyone here kindly recommend useful Aps o get from Aps store? Are cleaners and defragmenter necessary? On some videos, my MacAir say Unable to Play. Which player should I get and where from?
Which games are good to download? I noticed most of the games are meant for i pads and not for my 13 inch laptop. I need help.

I am interested to purchase mac Air. I have three windows 7 based computers in the house. Do I need separate storage for windows and for mac? What about saving high definition jpeg or movies? Can it be read or convert to each other?

For me. is it a stupid idea to purchase MacAir? I noticed a lot of Hollywood celebrities using Mac so my growing curiosity for Mac! So far I found Mac Air to be very fast.

For around rm3000 to 3600, which windows equivalent should I be thinking?

What is Mac warranty service like? Bad or Good?
