KUALA LUMPUR, March 17, 2015:

Around 850 jobs could be at stake at Shell offices in Cyberjaya as the Anglo-Dutch oil major consolidates its IT functions at a new base in Bangalore, India.

While no decision has yet been made, a senior officer dropped this bombshell during a town hall meeting with staff in Cyberjaya late last month, said sources.

The Bangalore move could also affect some 1,000 third party contractors if they are unable to relocate to India, the sources said.

The Shell Technology Centre Bangalore (STCB) is to be one of the three global hubs for technology, after Houston and Amsterdam for the energy group.

“By the end of 2010, STCB employed around 700 professionals and has plans to grow to about 1,500 in the near future. Recruitment at STCB is currently focused on graduates in India and experienced Indian professionals,” Shell Global said at its website.

Given this focus, chances are staff now employed at Cyberjaya may find it difficult to be relocated to India, said the sources, and will probably have to look for new jobs here.

A Shell company spokesperson here said: “Shell recently announced the strategic intention to create an in-house global information technology centre in Bangalore. India.

“This is part of a review of the company’s global IT projects and selected operations support capability that places greater emphasis on delivering projects in-house.”

Asked about the possible job losses at Cyberjaya, the spokesperson said: “We anticipate no direct impact to Shell staff in Malaysia during 2015 as a result of this proposed change. The project is at an early stage of development.

“Given our strategic intent, however, it is expected that there is likely to be staff impact as a result of this activity. We do not yet know the extent of this impact.

“We will share details when they become available with staff and their representative bodies, where appropriate.”

The spokesperson added: “Shell has been in Malaysia for over 100 years and we believe there are still many opportunities for Shell in Malaysia.

“Shell has no plan to close our Cyberjaya business operations centre. IT is just one of the functions based there.

“The centre also provides valuable human resources, finance, distribution, communications production services, global commercial and contracting and procurement support to Shell’s global operations.

“We continue to look for ways to migrate higher value work to our Cyberjaya Business Operations centre from our global operations.”

as you guys know, past few months I have been working full time in Malaysia no thanks to MH370 that our mgnt direction is for us to work remotely from Msia office (excuse la nak cut cost aje).

I really cannot tahan the crazy traffic in Klang Valley. I notice my car consume petrol very fast, after some readings at bmwclub forum i realize traffic jams is a curse for 6 potter cars. Not wanting to have further damage on my car engine, I got myself a weekday car so I can stay in jam comfortably and quietly.

So far the car is great and the tsi engine is very good. I highly recommend u guys to get this car, since it is affordable and also a continental car.

No more US$100 perdiem and no more hotel breakfast buffet and no more luxury lifestyle ! They flown most of us back to Malaysia for fear of repeating the freescale incident in the MH370 where key person in the project all MIA.

dating an air stewardess

since a few of ktards msg me ask abt my gf being ex air stewardess.. I will share my experience here.
you may think dating an air stewardess is cool and awesome. actually they are just a normal girl, no different than the normal girl u meet at the shopping mall,etc.
but because of their job, they have a few bad habits and special traits unique to them.
- everytime she is back from oversea trip, she will have new handbags, new clothes, new this n that. sometime they get u stuff u dont need, or clothes u will never wear.
- always say she is tired tired tired. can forget abt extra activities... but good for me because i was addicted to computer games last time, so i spend a lot time with my computer.
- very messy person. everytime she's back, our room is very messy.. then the morning she need to fly, she will leave the room messy again.... everytime i need to clean the mess.
- very hard to schedule appointment with her. e.g my fren wedding invite us go, or my parents come visit us, she will say cannot make it la cos she flying, bla bla bla.
- she sleeps a lot ! then sometime due to jetlag.. when i tired back from work just want to sleep, she will b awake and play those fb games (last time fb got a lot those stupid games) and since we only rent a small room, she will play the computer in the room with me trying hard to sleep. weekend she will just FFK our planned activity with the excuse of jet-lag and tired.
- i always lost track where she go... sometime being a guy we are not being 'sensitive' enough.. so i remember asking her how long she will be in paris.. she terus scold me said she is at prague... then i said i dunno those europe place name, then she scold me said i just dont care where she is and said even if she at hell also i dunno.. then i jokingly say "sure i know, cos in hell cannot MSN wan ma" she terus go offline for few days
- her colleagues... the stories u always hear abt wild/party air stewardess... they are true.. but not all are like this.. but too bad her colleague is... and they are quite close.
- damn those pilots.. because they have special privilege to the clubs in singapore, those air stewardess always wanna 'tag' along them can go VIP room, free entrance, free drinks, etc. etc. and some of the pilot said if my gf dont go, they also wont go. so these kaki clubbing airstewardess so cheapskate wanna go VIP keep persuade my gf go.. and my gf no choice but go.
- but not all abt her is bad la... she quite demanding, esp in my career. i always hear her say "10 yrs from now i wont do this job anymore.. u better work hard get good salary to 'yang' me.. i very high maintenance wan okay"
- because she spent her teenage life in singapore, so her english memang gooding, (tats why can masuk SIA) versus my msian-rojak-english.. my english improve because of her

then the golden question : why she quit being air stewardess when they pay so well?
- because she is tired, of the environment, of flying, of the people (a lot time after she back she will complain her colleagues do this or that)
- distance between us. even in SG we hardly have quality time with each other, then I relocate back to malaysia.. while she is still there flying around. initially say weekend will come back msia, or i go singapore.. but a lot weekend she not around. there's once i purposely travel back to singapore to wait her, but her flight delayed in europe and by the time she come back it's already sunday night. so i spent 1 lonely night at her room(after i moved out back to msia, she continue stay the same room).
- due to all those factor above, ppl get lonely, and will sure have third party wan. so yea.. my fault, she found out, she forgive me, this is the biggest factor that contribute to her resignation and back to msia. now she's working in corporate and we stay together now.

everytime i play game, someone else use the wifi... sure the -ping spike til 1k+
when at night nobody else using the wifi, the internet smooth like hell ping 52ms saja...

i did some test also, during weekend nobody at home afternoon i play also ping damn low 80-90ms only.
so i decided to change my modem-router...

to the gamers out there, what modem/router do u use? is it recommended to use online modem-router(wired) and use current wireless as a AP?

which country will u migrate to?

seems theres a lot of choice lately, for those who 'tak suka mau keluar'.

Previously our only visible obvious choice is Singapore where the pay is higher, now we have more choice. So how do we decide where to go?

High Pay places includes Singapore (SGD2k), Hong Kong, Taiwan(USD1.3k), China-Shanghai(RMB9k) for fresh grad. It will be more if u are experienced.

Some guides for you if you are,
- Cainis educated since young with competitive mindset, u may go to China
- Cainis/English educated and love high tech stuff (IT), u may go to Taiwan
- Banana, either go Singapore or the west.
- pro-cantonaise (those who only speak cantonaise no speaking cainis), then u go HK

Please spread the words to your friends, dont let them stuck in Msia doing cheap jobs !

stain on credit card

Hi guys,

I want to ask whether u guys got this problem or not.

Your credit card got a strip/row of stain at the top of the credit card.

cos mine has this strip of stained/smudge thingy and i use soap and cloth also cannot clean it

this is how i put my card in wallet.

and the stain can be seen

a new card does not have this stain.

the only clue i can tell is the stain is from the wallet leather... i may be wrong.

anyone advise pls. thanks !
