Is There A Vacuum Cleaner With Rewashable Filters

I was just wondering if there is any vacuum cleaner which does not require the filters to be replaced annually as these things add to the cost. Different vacuum cleaners have different technology or filters. Some filters are washable with water whilst some filters are not washable and needs to be replaced within 1 or 2 years depending on usage.

Currently my Karcher vacuum has 2 filters, the long-life filter and the HEPA filter. The long-life filter is said to be washable but I think there is a life span for this filter. Unfortunately this filter is not available to be purchased and for this reason I hope it will last as long as it could. For the HEPA filter, it is recommended that this HEPA filter is replaced in every 6 months.

Is there a vacuum that does not require any filter replacement? Basically a cost-free maintenance?

Food Stall At Tmn Bukit Anggerik Near KK Supermart

There is this food stall on a bicycle just beside KK Supermart at Taman Bukit Anggerik by a Chinese man in his 40s or 50s. Does anyone know what food the man is selling? It looks like some noodles but I'm not sure what is it as there are some pots and pans on the bicycle.

Photo below shows the location where the stall(on a bicycle) is set up. It is usually there at night at around 8pm or 9pm.

Alternative Route To Alam Damai

For those who frequently use the road leading to Alam Damai, do you frequently experience traffic gridlock at these two traffic light intersections as shown in the image below during peak hours? Late evening yesterday I was stuck at the traffic light intersection leading toward Alam Damai as traffic was at a complete standstill, mostly contributed by a faulty traffic light at the Lebuhraya Hubungan Timur-Barat and Persiaran Mewah intersection. Even though the traffic light is not faulty, the traffic at the two traffic light intersections as shown below is usually bad most of the time.

Is there other alternative roads leading to Alam Damai where traffic isn't too bad? Looking at the Google Map, an option is to use the Lebuhraya Hubungan Timur-Barat heading toward Lebuhraya Cheras-Kajang highway. Not sure if there is a road from the highway that can cut into Jalan 3/144a which will lead to Jalan 1/144a and then to Jalan Alam Damai.

Any thoughts from regular users who use the roads that lead toward these two traffic light intersections as shown above? The traffic at the two traffic light intersections as shown above is surely quite a nightmare yesterday evening as it's a free for all when one of the traffic lights broke down. Though I understand that it's the same thing even though both traffic lights are working fine.

Vacuum Cleaner Recommendation Only For Carpet

I've gone through some of the archives here and most vacuum cleaners recommended are for general mopping on tiled floors. I am specifically looking for a vacuum FOR CARPET ONLY specifically pure wool carpets from (Ikea Stockholm).

Criteria are the vacuum cleaner must not damage the pure new wool carpet when cleaning, and the vacuum cleaner must be easy to clean. Read about the pros and cons of bag and bagless and it appears that some prefer vacuums with bags while some prefer those without bags. My old vacuum (more than 20 years old) comes with a bag but I thought it's about time I consider a newer design which is less noisy and perhaps is easier with maintenance and cleaning.

Don't need any costly high-end types from the likes of Dyson etc. Just a normal one from common brands such as Panasonic etc. would do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kitchet Cabinet For PR1MA Alam Damai

Earlier this month, a thread here showed the construction of a PR1MA project in Sarawak getting a built-in kitchen cabinet. My daughter recently inquired with PR1MA and found that the kitchen cabinet will be provided as standard for all units of PR1MA Alam Damai. Would like to ask if anybody have the details or photos on the kitchen cabinet that will be provided for PR1MA Alam Damai. Things such as the material of table top or colour of the cabinet.

The photo below shows the kitchen cabinet of the PR1MA project at Sarawak. From the photos it looks like 2'x2' floor tiles are used for the table top instead of the common granite or marble top.

Other photos of the unit at PR1MA Sarawak

Panasonic Elite Sky Series 1HP For Condo Living?

For those who have the top model Panasonic Elite Sky Series air-conditioner, any thoughts if the unit is worth the money? I noticed the air vent for the Panasonic Elite Sky series is located at the top of the unit instead of the bottom. It was claimed that by blowing cool air to the ceiling, the cooling for the whole room is more uniform. Can anyone share your experience on this?

Lastly, is 1 HP sufficient for a living room in a typical 1,000 sqft apartment? There will be ceiling fans at the living room and the air-cond is just to supplement the ceiling fan by providing a bit of cool air. With 1HP, the electricity bill will not be as damaging when compared to a 1.5HP unit.

The air-cond will be fixed in the living room of the apartment with this layout:-

Any thoughts appreciated.

Bungalow and Semi-D in Johor Less than RM100k ?

Just read this news on affordable housing in Johor. The Johor's Sultan must be loved by many Johoreans. Even Pr1MA and Rumahwip cannot compete. Looks like many people will be rushing to grab a dream bungalow or semi-D that costs below RM100k in Johor.

Any Johoreans here applying?

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017...ousing-project/

Quality Recliners

I'm looking at the Stressless Ekornes particularly the Mayfair model. The cost is quite astronomical at RM18k retail. Is anybody here familiar with the Stressless Ekornes recliners? Do they usually have sales or promotion, and if yes, when is the period and how is the discount like?

Are there any other good alternatives out there? I checked out Lazyboy at Harvey Norman and the quality and design of the recliners are not really up to my taste although it's a lot cheaper.

Any information appreciated.

ENT Doctor Who Specialises In Ear Problems

I am currently having hearing problem with my right ear as the volume is lower with the right ear. The right ear also hears the pitch differently with a tinny sound with no bass. The left ear hears perfectly with a full sound. I suspect there may be permanent damage with the right ear.

A friend recommended Dr Mallina Sivarajasingam from Tropicana Medical Centre but it's a bit far from my place. I have shortlisted Dr Koay Cheng Boon from Sunway Medical Centre as after some checking it appears that his website listed "Hearing" and Ear problems as his specialties. What about Dr Koay Cheng Eng? His website does not indicate so much on ears and hearing problems.

Last question is are there any ENT doctors in Subang Jaya Medical Centre? I have gone to the website and noticed that there are no doctors that specialise in ENT in SJMC which is weird. Not even one ENT doctor. Does someone know if there is any good ENT doctor in SJMC that specialises in ear or hearing, not so much on nose and throat.

Sofa and TV Console/Cabinet Recommendation

For 2 or 3-seater sofa, fabric or leather, apart from Ikea, are there any other brands worth considering with emphasis on quality and good value. I don't quite like Lorenzo designs. Cellini is nice but their sofas usually come in a set of either L-shape or combinations.

This particular Ikea 3-seater looks good to me. Simple and nice but not sure if the material is good quality. Anyone using Ikea fabric or leather sofas can comment?

IKEA Fabric sofas
NOCKEBY
Three-seat sofa
RM2,990

For TV console, similarly I like simple designs. I have checked out TV cabinets from Ikea, Lorenzo and others and spotted this design from Cellini which I like. Not sure how much is the price though. Any recommendations on companies that do TV consoles at down-to-earth prices?

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart

Last month we tried some Hokkaido baked cheese tarts for the very first time. It was a long queue at the kiosk in Mid Valley Megamall. The tarts tasted very good when they are warm as the cheese just melts in the mouth with nice aroma. So good that my daughter lined up for the 2nd time and packed 5 boxes home. There was this Singaporean who was also in the queue and she mentioned that she was buying the tarts for the 2nd time as she found the tarts to be delicious when she tried the day before. In Singapore the cheese tarts are more expensive.

Are there other good food other than these cheese tarts?

PR1MA Apartments Above RM300k Other Than AlamDamai

Most recently the Budget 2017 announces that PR1MA will build more houses with a selling price of RM150,000 to RM300,000. I was just wondering about the prices of previously launched PR1MA apartments that were closed.

Are there any other PR1MA apartment launches that are priced above RM300,000? As far as I know, the PR1MA Alam Damai apartment (largest) units are priced at RM400,000 per unit which is RM100,000 more than the norm for PR1MA. The next smaller units at Alam Damai cost RM385,000.

If it is only PR1MA Alam Damai apartments that cost RM400,000 and the other PR1MA apartments cost RM300,000 and below, I was just wondering how does this PR1MA policy work with regards to pricing if there is a capping to these affordable homes.

2017 Budget : Attractive Measures for Middle/Low

I just read an article on MSN news about the government that is expecting to announce "attractive measures" in the upcoming 2017 Budget on October 2017 in the parliament. This is more to help the middle and lower-income earners to secure affordable homes.

Any thoughts or speculations what might be announced? It seems that the Finance Ministry was in talks with four major banks on how the 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) scheme could deliver affordable homes to these groups. What could be proposed when the banks are said to be involved? It cannot be the lowering of interest rates anymore since that was already controlled by Bank Negara with the recent interest reduction.

Current Highest Fixed Deposit (FD) Promotion

Would like to know which bank currently offers the highest FD rates. Previously was on Public bank and the FD rate is 4.3% for 1 year. With the current new low rates by Bank Negara, it appears that Public bank has stop offering the FD promotion.

Is there any bank that currently offers an FD rate of >4.0% per annum?
