Help replace fibre optic connector

Dear all

My son stepped on my house modem few days ago. Internet not working and i realised the fibre optic connector (green color item) is broken (see attached photo) and cannot be connected to white color fibre optic connector. Called TIME.com and was told technician earliest availability is next Thu (due to the long weekend and public holidays) and is chargeable depending on damage.

I would like to ask if anyone can advice how much repair/replacement cost and if anyone can come to my house in KL for the repair soonest possible?

Thank you

Dear all,
I accidentally spill some plain water on my Sony 48'' TV screen. It wasnt ON. I immediately wipe the TV with a cloth.
Few hours later, i switched on the TV, there was something wrong with the screen on the corner where the water was spilled earlier.
15mins later, the whole screen went blank.
I bought the TV on 2014 but I hardly watch the TV except recent years due to MCO.

can someone recommend me a good TV repair technician in KL/PJ/Selangor region?

Many thanks

Elmina City vs Setia Alam

Dear friends,

Working in KL. I am thinking of buying a landed property to live. Thinking of Elmina City & Setia Alam.
Wish to get some opinions and general poll as a gauge for me and future buyers too.

Below are some considerations in terms of my definition on livability:

(1) Traffic to KL (to & fro)
Based on google map, distance & time is almost same.
But peak period duration is lesser (by 20min) for Elmina compared to SA. So Elimna slight advantage

(2) Maturity of city - amenities & restaurants
SA seems a clear winner with more commercial areas. Elmina probably 5 years behind.

(3) Connectivity & Infrastructure
Elmina is a clear winner as they are more alternative highways to KL.
Although SA will have DASH in future, it still need to go thru alam denai (part of Elmina)
Furthermore, MRT/LRT is closer to Elmina compared to SA

(4) Property Appreciation
Not sure - maybe someone can advise

(5) Developer workmanship quality & home design
Sime Darby for Elmina ; SA for SP Setia or EcoWorld
Which is better?

(6) Health, Safety & cleanliness
Not sure - many someone can advise. I think both also ok.

(7) Demographics
Very much personal - though some people may like multiracial and some prefer specific race due to food.
I think SA has more Chinese while Elmina is more 1Malaysia?

Hope to have a good discussion to benefit everybody knowledge. Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I have a car (NCB=45%) which insurance expires at 15 Jan 2016.
Insurance premium

Dear all sifus,

I received a letter from car insurance last Dec that my car that time is estimated X amount - say RM100k
As we know entering new year for Jan 2015, the new price is reflected in their insurance system- say RM90k
But based on various used car dealer online, the market price is actually RM75k.

(1) So, which amount should I insure with insurance company?
(2) What is the impact if I insure RM75k?
(3) If i got an accident and the damage is RM10k - will i be compensated RM10k?
(4) If the car got stolen in Dec and the market value is RM60k, will i be compensated RM60k?

Thank you for advice as i think this questions are applicable to many people.

Is dividen good for shareholders?

Hi all sifus,
Most of the time, when a company pays good dividen, the company stocks tends to be well liked and stable.
However, i have a burning question in my mind all these years, hope some of u could shed some light.

If u notice when a stock last trade at RM10 before ex-date
Dividen at ex-date = RM0.5 (before minus 26% tax)
The effective dividen we get per share = RM0.37

However, Opening price on ex-date will be RM9.5 (adjust by minus RM0.5)
Which means that shareholder is actually losing money out of it.

Since price will be adjusted anyway, why bother paying dividen?
i might as well hope the company does not pay me any dividen, coz i only get RM0.37, but i was deducted RM0.5 from my share.

Hope some can explain.
Waja Gear Problem

Dear all,

I own a 2005 Proton Waja Mitsubishi engine clocked about 200,000km. I planned to change the car next year. Recently, everytime i start to drive the car, the sound something like "mooooo.." (like the cow sound) come out from engine and i can feel jerking (like 3rd gear switch to 2nd gear suddenly). But this sound stop when after 10 minit of driving or I shift the gear from "D" to "3".

I suspect is the gear problem as i encounter similar problem three mths ago and the reason for that is the gear oil is leaking and already almost finish. The sound back then stopped after i change the gear oil seal and top up gear oil, not to mention a hefty RM500 repair.

THe sound problem come back recently. THis time i checked the gear dipstick... it shows gear oil is at FULL level.

Appreciate yr advice as i plan to go Cameron Highlands end of this mth, and i am not sure if my waja can go up or not.

THanks a million
