Astro IPTV Network Switch

Hi,

- My TV system is located 2 floors away from my Maxis Modem & Main Router. When I installed the IPTV, the Astro staff extended and drilled my walls so that the cable can be connected to my TV system.
- Now, I have Xbox 360 connected to the TV as well, for Netflix consumption (My tv is old and not very Smart TV)
- My tv area is a WiFi blindspot. The wifi is very not stable for the Xbox. So, I use some old router to split the network from that single cable to Astro IPTV and Xbox.
- However, the connection from the router is always not working properly. Either my xbox or wifi or Astro IPTV will not work properly after few hours.

Someone recommended me to use network switch. However, I understand that Astro IPTV connection is a bit complicated and probably, if not all, some type of network switch/router cannot make my setup above to work properly.

Should I try network switch or should I spend money and find technician to extend another cable from my modem/main router.

If anyone understand better about the technicality of the issue, please advise me.
