I believe that in many orphanages they need to start supporting themselves when they turn 18 or something right (assuming no sponsor for higher education).
Is there any gov data to track what kind of jobs they end up doing? Or do many of them end up on the street?

Reason I'm asking is that I'm working on a project to develop skillsets for orphans nearing adulthood.

Just wondering, sorry if it is a stupid question.
If I have 10k cash, what are the best/most creative uses of this money to grow it? I know it is not much at all, but just wondering if there are better ways to manage it then letting it sit in a savings account/fixed deposit.

P.S. I'm a student btw, so I don't have a fixed monthly income yet, but I do have around 500 a month from my side business.

For argument's sake, let's say SPAD requires all licensed taxi drivers to register in the app, and the app basically brings the same convenience as Uber (cashless, metered, and easy booking).

Major benefits:
1) In one swoop (mass forced registration of all taxi drivers) the convenience of Uber will be brought to the entire country not just Klang Valley.
2) We retain all the same insurance protection and regulations as normal taxi service currently provides.

But will we support?

How to set up a small cluster

Hi guys my small company uses software that can take advantage of a computer cluster, which will allow for faster calculations/simulations (we do some calculation intensive stuff), and we have spare computers to build this. We don't want to hire external IT help if we can build it ourselves, which we believe we can according to what I read online.

Unfortunately none of these computers have two ethernet ports (to act as the "head node" one of the computers must have a dual port right?). Will it be as simple as installing a server adapter network card like this

1) try to get all christian mission schools to go under government with muslim HM etc, and took down the crosses in mission schools

2) send non-chinese speaking senior administrative teachers to chinese schools to diminish chinese influence over the policies in those schools.. in fact he didn't want chinese education at all!

3) btw he also strongly opposed PPSMI (teaching science and maths in english) when it was first introduced by government, saying it will kill off malay language etc... then later once formed alliance with pakatan, make full u-turn and criticise gov when they want to repeal it

So are you telling me he underwent a full personal 'reformasi' during his time in prison, then came out as a principled and good politician?

How to know if you been cheated at AIRCOND SHOP?

Recently, all of a sudden my aircond started to be not cold at all (blowing warm air). Change wasn't even
gradual, just suddenly one day not cold at all.

So after a few weeks no aircond I brought to shop (not specialist aircond shop, but the guy does aircond servicing too). He said got no leaks he can find at surface level (without having to remove everything and check), so he refill gas and asked to see how if it leaks again or what.

But by two days later can feel not cold any more. So I went to different shop this time, which is nearer to my house. This new guy said he found the leak, which is apparently in the aircond pressure switch (from here i'm already suspicious because the earlier mechanic already checked this component and didn't find any cause for concern). Anyway I believe him and changed it (and I had to pay charge for changing gas, compressor oil, and servicing too, altogether RM130).

By just THREE DAYS LATER, all the gas gone already, not cold any more. I went back to the same shop and ask wtf, he said that means got ANOTHER leak (wtf two leaks all of a sudden, can meh?). He said must open all the components and it's a whole day job

But just two hours later he called me and said he found the problem (I've heard this before lol). Apparently the cooling coil is leaking, and the expansion valve also needs changing (total damage this time? RM560!!).

I said that day the pressure switch was fine la then?? He said confirm there was a leak at the pressure switch so that needed to be changed anyway.

Now if three days later not cold any more, he will say there's ANOTHER leak somewhere and have to change another component?? This is my first car, never done aircond repair before, how to not get scammed?

UPDATE 31/8/14: Aircond f***ed again all of a sudden. It's been one week. Yesterday still cold, today suddenly not cold at all, blowing hot air. Now what?

UPDATE 7/9/14: Went back to the shop and scolded the manager. After another round of soap bubble leak checking and even checking with nitrogen gas (not sure what that's for), he finally said something similar to what my first mechanic said, i.e. that my pressure valve (was it 'valve' or something else? can't remember) might be relieving the gas due to high pressure that's why it all leaves the system so suddenly. Therefore I'm getting more and more convinced that it's not in fact a 'leak' per se. A leak would mean GRADUAL decline in cooling effect right? In my case it runs very well and very cold for about 3-5 days after refilling gas, then all of a sudden next day I start my car and it's just blowing hot air because the gas is not there any more.
Anyway he refilled the gas for free and asked to drive around for 3 days and get back to him and he'll check if there's any gas leaked out or gone completely so he can do further diagnosis.
Any opinions? Any significance in the fact that the loss of gas is not gradual, instead seeming to be very abrupt?

Hi guys, just wondering why there is not NGV car owner's thread yet, since there are many issues/tips/advice to be shared among NGV users.

NGV Community Forums is basically dead now (although the info there is still relevant and worth reading through). The only place with active NGV discussions is probably this Facebook group but posts keep floating up and down and most of the posts are in colloquial BM which takes a lot of effort to understand lol.

As a new owner of a secondhand NGV car (Wira 1.8 DOHC, with mixer system) I have quite a few questions but difficult to find a place to ask.

So just to survey, how many NGV users are there, maybe we can compile a list and share here...

Insurance company don't want to pay for damages

The other day I met in an accident, and it's his fault (old uncle).

So my company (Kurnia) already gave me total loss offer and I've accepted it (My insurance with Kurnia is first party btw). So I sent them all my documents, which they apparently forwarded to the old uncle's insurance company (MMIP). From Kurnia side I had contacted them and they said that they can release my cheque within 14 days after all documents are in order...

BUT THEN

Today I get a letter from MMIP (the other party's insurance company), saying that the car that bang me was driven by someone who is not the policyholder and that someone is above 65 years old (I think this old man is driving his son's vehicle), therefore they "cannot entertain my claim" and they return all my documents to me (since they have all my docs with them I assume my insurance company forwarded it to them).

Wtf? Why the other party's insurance company (MMIP) telling me that they cannot entertain my claim? I didn't claim anything from them also right? I am claiming from my own insurance company (kurnia) right? My insurance company is the one that must deal with them right?

It's already weekend so I can't call Kurnia or MMIP to ask wtf is going on, but have you heard of such a situation? Just because the driver is above 65 years old they don't want to cough up the damages? Or do I not have to worry about this shit since my policy with Kurnia is first party therefore they must pay me what they promised no matter what?

I'm looking for a second hand Wira (budget 10k) and I'm really not sure if I can trust all the car dealers... What do you think? So far I know I should bring my own mechanic to inspect right?

And what's the deal with them advertising that the old owner was a lady? lol cos they drive slower, thus wear and tear is less?
