Not strictly a pet, but none the less. We have four caterpillars which we've identified as Least Skippers. They are currently on/in their leaves in a tupperware box. I have put a twig in in case they want to make cocoons.
anyone have any more advice as to how to makes sure they grow into butterflies or moths? my 12 year old daughter is very excited.

All I seem to do is ask questions however, this is pretty important to us. We are currently renting a flat. I've given notice to the Landlord by recorded letter.
We want to move out on a Monday morning and fly back to the UK on Wednesday morning. Assuming all is well in the flat and there isno reason to think it won't be. Is it unreasonable to expect our deposit to be transferred either that afternoon or Tuesday morning?
We don't want to have to leave a bank account open in Malaysia if we can help it.

The man in question is a genius. He has helped my husband out phenomenally well and we want to buy him a gift. What we know:
He is a mad keen Liverpool supporter.
He is Muslim.
He doesn't drink alcohol.
He does like ties, in fact I posted asking where to get a nice one, but was informed that muslim men don't wear silk - every day is a school day!
So, come one come all and give me some suggestions. Please.

This is what I posted yesterday in the serious Koptitiam area. Since I had no responses I thought I'd try here
I am in need of some employment contract advice and can't seem to find a solicitor to advise me. Can anyone recommend a practicing lawyer in Damansara, TTDI or somewhere close to those areas? I've tried a couple, but before they will meet with you, you need to have a 15 minute conversation on the telephone. I don't know whether that's normal Malaysian practice or if I am too British in my outlook and expectations.

Like it says, a doctor my husband used went out of his way to sort out the problem. We'd like to get him a present. If we were still in England, we'd have bought him a case of wine or a decent bottle of spirits.
Since this individual is muslim and doesn't drink (I checked), something wearable seems the answer. I've noticed he likes spiffy neck ties, but don't know where to go to look for one.
Recommendations please?

I've just been to Sebang airport and, while I was outside I saw a Toyota with the same number plate as mine. Surely this is wrong? Only one car can have one number...
I couldn' take a photograph of it because my ancient phone doesn't have a camera.
Should I report it to someone, this character could be committing all sorts of crimes using my number plate.

Cancelling a visa?

I am almost certain this is the wrong place but I couldn't find a legal area.
My family and I are planning to leave Malaysia. For long and boring reasons, we will not be informing my husband's employer.
How does the visa thing work? can we cancel it ourselves, does his firm need to do it, or shouldn't we bother.

My 12 year old daughter is desperate to go to see it. Since my husband isn't keen , it would mean me and her. I am reluctant to drive from Selangor to SG so will either take the coach or fly.
I need to know whether it's worth the outlay though. I am not mean, but it;s a lot of cash for a couple of hours sightseeing.

Hire furniture?

** NOTICE **I know this sounds stupid, but is it possible to hire a sofa or a couple of armchairs for a fortnight or so? my parents are coming to visit us, we only have a three seat sofa and two garden chairs. I don't want to buy something for two reasons. We will move flat in three months time and we will leave Malaysia in a year or so.
Suggestions?

I've looked at flying, but it is insanely expensive. So, my choices are either train or coach. I am struggling with the train website. unless i am being spectacularly stupid, there is only one train a day to JB.
Can anyone advise me whether this is true or not. I want to go next Friday (3.5.13) and come back on Saturday afternoon. Ideally I'd leave KL around 10am.

Long term car rental?

I've searched as well as I can, but can't find anything.
I am planning to start a job in late August, but will need another car. We already have one, but my husband will use that to get to work and drip our daughter off at school.
I am trying to find out the cheapest way to get from A-B. IMO, a rental car is the best way. Taxis are too unreliable.
Anyone have a contact or some details - price especially for month by month rental?

Rainbow crabs anyone?

My daughter got her hearts desire yesterday. She is now the proud owner/carer for a rainbow crab.
The pet shop man advised us to put about 2cm of water in the bottom of her tank, use a stone and feed her on special food that sinks. I've just read she should have a cuttlefish for shell health.
Anything else we should know?

Do they ever shoot anyone. We moved to Malaysia six months ago. The first time I saw a guard with a gun I thought I was hallucinating.
My daughter who is 11, was trying to speak to one on Friday evening when they were refilling the ATMs at Maybank. He was quite threatening (rightly), but she asked me whether they did actually ever use their guns.

Since the health topic on these boards is pretty quiet, I thought I'd ask here.
I have a medium sized verucca on my foot. I have been trying Scholl corn and callous remover for it, but nothing is happening.
I can't track down a foot clinic anywhere.
Ideas please?
