Looks for keywords like "help", "trouble", "sorry" etc. If keywords are found - the script SSHes into the clients server and rolls back the staging database to the latest backup. Then sends a reply "no worries mate, be careful next time".

xxx: hangover.sh - another cron-job that is set to specific dates. Sends automated emails like "not feeling well/gonna work from home" etc. Adds a random "reason" from another predefined array of strings. Fires if there are no interactive sessions on the server at 8:45am.

xxx: (and the oscar goes to) fucking-coffee.sh - this one waits exactly 17 seconds (!), then opens a telnet session to our coffee-machine (we had no frikin idea the coffee machine is on the network, runs linux and has a TCP socket up and running) and sends something like sys brew. Turns out this thing starts brewing a mid-sized half-caf latte and waits another 24 (!) seconds before pouring it into a cup. The timing is exactly how long it takes to walk to the machine from the dudes desk.

I've finally got it!!! I bought it in Singapore for S$ 2769 inc GST works out to be around RM 6645.

Lets start with the PROS:
- From what I've seen so far, no other 15.4" notebook can match this notebook's spec vs price ratio. I know there are many 17" notebooks around with the same or better specs but ... 17" is monster size, totally not practical to carry around.
- The closest competitor for this notebook I know of is the Asus G50Vt. Both are 15.4". The difference is, for the same price, the G50Vt only comes with DVD, P8600 processor, 320GB storage, max res 1366x768 and 512MB dedicated 9800M GS is totally no match against MSI GT627. The only good thing about Asus from what I see is the 2yrs international warranty and their 2GB turbo memory.

- The aluminum casing gives the GT627 a solid feel.
- GT627 comes with a turbo button that allows you to instantly overclock the processor with just a push of a button. I've given this a try and the it increased the Vista experience processor index from 5.5 to 5.6.
- 9 Cell battery...what more can you ask... is there a 12?
- A separate numpad. Since the speakers are placed to the front, they have managed to squeeze in a numpad somehow by shrinking a few buttons.
- BLURAY!!!

Now the CONS:
- The first bad thing i noticed about this notebook is the speakers. They are weak and if the volume is too high it vibrates the casing a little producing a small bzzzzz sound.
- 3 USBs only ... personally I would prefer to have 4 coz I've already used up all the USBs for mouse, external HD, and 3.5G USB dongle leaving none to spare. If I suddenly need to plug in a pendrive, i'll have to unplug one of the occupied ones :-S
- Finger print magnet especially on the turbo button.
- The placing of the left control button is after the 'Fn' button. Since they have already included a separate numpad, they should have got rid of that 'Fn' button. Or maybe I'm just not used to it.
- The keyboard is a little mushy. I would prefer a more solid keyboard...just my personal preference.

OK...thats all i can say for now. I've only played around with it for less that 6 hours so I can't really say much.

Repercussion for accepting counter offer

I just got an offer from Singapore paying me nearly 30% more in SGD.
My company is planning to counter offer me with the same amount, so it'll be nearly 200% raise from my current salary in RM.
I've read all kinds of articles about the negative effects of accepting a counter offers (like 90% leave the company 12months after accepting it. IS THAT TRUE?). or maybe the statistics only applies to western countries?
Has anyone here regretted taking a counter offer? Pls share your experience.

Problem details

Problem description:
Recently my upload speed dropped by more than 60%.

Nothing is wrong with my download speed.
Very sure no virus/malware/adware/spyware.
Firewall OFF, P2P Off.
I have 3 PCs at home, results are the same on all of them.
I have 2 different working modems, both produces the same results with or without router.
Anyone experienced this and got it fixed before?

Know where I can get one?
I'll give an example...
My home has got 3 PCs, but no streamyx coverage.
I need a 3G router to get an Internet connection and share it with all 3 PCs.
If that router has got Wifi even better.

I have 2 wireless routers. One of them is connected to a modem while the other is not. I want both routers to link together wirelessly to form a single LAN. Possible?
