OC stable @ 4.5Ghz since day 1 without issue. No overheat issue as it cooled by AIO water cooling (Refer siggy). Setting saved in mobo BIOS and you can just continue using the same profile if you wish. RAM run at stock speed without OC as it won't gain much benefit. So just buy with peace of mind.

Picture: Upload upon request

Reason for sale: Upgrade CPU + Mobo + RAM to latest Intel platform.
Good OC board for i7-9700k

Hi, plan to upgrade my PC after 6 years usage.
You can see my current rig in my siggy.

Just plan to change CPU, mobo, 32GB RAM and additional 1TB M.2 SSD (flash is at its lowest price currently, can't miss the chance), the rest will just used back the existing

I would like to buy i7-9700k, and pair with Z390 mobo. I know nowadays good OC = alot of features (whether useful or useless) = expensive. I'm not sure whether we still have something that is <1000 or nearly 1000 that can OC the CPU well without bundle with alot of features. I guess my existing mobo is a good example (<RM500 mid low end board that can OC my i7 in 4.5Ghz for 6 years without issue)

Requirement:
1. Of course good OC, associated with good power regulator. Plan to OC CPU @ min 4.9 to 5.1 all the time depends on my silicon lottery.
2. Mainly CPU OC, not interested in RAM or BCLK OC.
3. Doesn't need fancy gigabit lan (not playing online game) or WIFI (ady have external TP-link high power WIFI adapter, but won't reject if bundle)
4. Doesn't need fancy internal sound chip as it won't be better than my current sound card and i will always disable anyway.
5. Doesn't need fancy lighting, my eye is on monitor not on the CPU tower.
6. Doesn't need SLI or crossfire certified, as i only use single card.
7. The rest like M.2 and USB 3.1 i guess should be a basic feature in all 390 mobo isn't it?

Pls don't ask me to do the research myself as i already did some, due to i'm now a dad for 2 kids which i only able to spare 2 hours per day in front of my beloved wife (PC), but i'm still enthusist on PC hardware and OC, just that i don't have time to choose among >50+ mobo that available in the market, so ur valuable feedback is highly appreciated.

Do tell also if any component in my existing rig is not compatible with the new platform.

Nissan Teana L33 2.5XV Engine Mounting

Hi guys.

My Nissan Teana 2.5XV (L33) is vibrate when shift into D during stand still, workshop told that it could be engine mounting KO.
The car mileage is only 80k which i felt very fragile if compare to my Saga which clocked at 200k without engine mounting issue.

Anyway, below question need some opinions from you guys:

1. The vibration isn't that serious, just some low node rumble and can feel it at steering and brake pedal. However it makes me want to shift to N rather than stay at D when in standstill traffic or waiting traffic light.
My 3 pot Axia during that condition feel better than Teana.
2. There are total 4 mountings, may i know can the workshop identify which one is worn and just change those accordingly? Is it recommended to do so?
3. Anyone know how much for engine mounting for my car?

Thanks.

Hi all, just come across some difficulties today.

My 2.5Y old daughter start her half day pre-school starting from today, time from 830am to 130pm, after that she will went back to her babysitter who take care her before for full day from 830am - 630pm.

She charged RM800 previously for full day and we thought she will cut half if we send for half day only. I'm shocked when she told us she only willing to reduce RM100 to RM700 and claimed this is 'market price', she even told us others might not reduce at ALL.

I don't know am i too naive or what. Do you think this is reasonable? 2 meals reduced to once, 2 baths reduce to once, time reduced half, but price reduce RM100 only?

If that's the case, won't her just take care 2 childs each with half day separately then she can earn RM1400, which is much more than take care of a child for full day?

I don't feel this is sensible no matter how well i pursue myself.

Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks in advance.

RCCB Nuisanse Tripping

Hi,

Been searching this topic in this forum, found few RCCB trip issues but no one similar to my case, so i just create a new thread for my question.

I just got my new house (double storey) half year ago and just done renovation last 2 weeks.
My house downstairs is using downlight, so wiring are all inside the plaster ceiling.
Switch box is separated for downstairs and upstairs.

However i just discover nuisance tripping after all the lights and fans are finish installed yesterday.
Only happen on downstair RCCB, but not upstair.

The structure of downstair switch box is as below:
1. There are 2 row of MCB and RCCB. Upper row is 10mA type RCCB, total 10+ MCB are for plugs and heater point for downstair.
2. Lower row is 100mA type RCCB, total 4 MCB for downstair lighting point, which consist of 4 main areas, for living room+auto gate, dining room, dry kitchen+bedroom and wet kitchen+toilet.

The tripping condition is intermittent, and only happen in lower row 100mA RCCB. So i assume there are something wrong for the lighting/fan point.
I tried few combination to find out the root cause:
1. Switch OFF 1 out of 4 MCBs each time until next tripping happen to narrow down the possibility.
2. Switch OFF ALL MCBs.

The strange thing is, even when i switch OFF all 4 MCBs, the tripping still happen.
However i notice one things, got few times when the RCCB tripping, i can clearly heard the cut/drill machine turn ON at the nearby renovation.
So i suspect the nuisance tripping is caused by nearby renovation that share the same phase.

I quickly went to see my house TNB meter, is using red phase. So i try to see the house that under renovation which is 6 units apart share the same red phase with me as well/
I'm not sure whether this is root cause or not, but i can't believe it trip just coincidence because i heard the machine sound and it trip in front of my eye. Not 100% but i did witnesses more than 5 times.

I also went to electrical shop to buy a new RCCB (same 100mA rating) to check whether the RCCB faulty or not,
i change the RCCB by myself, after changed the tripping condition still happen. SO i confirm this is not caused by faulty RCCB.

One more strange thing is the RCCB just trip from 10am to 5pm, adi tripped more that 15 times. After 5pm when all the renovation job stopped the RCCB stop nuisance tripping, until the time i post now, the RCCB still never trip for once. This lead me strongly believe that the nearby renovation causing some unbalance feedback into the phase and sensed by my RCCB.
But i can't understand how it can influence my RCCB. Because as i said above, even i turn OFF all MCBs it still nuisance tripping.

So i draw a conclusion from what i did today:
1. It is not due to overload because MCB never trip, but RCCB.
2. It is not due to faulty/leaking light/fan because it trips intermittent, and even with ALL MCBs OFF!!
3. Not caused by faulty RCCB because i changed to another one also show the same nuisance tripping.

My questions is:
1. What should i do for next step?
2. Is my speculation reasonable?
3. Should i try 300mA RCCB?
4. Should i bypass RCCB for my lighting point? Anyway my lights are all LED downlight and none of it connected with earth, so basically there already no leaking protection anymore.
5. Is there any device to 'conditioning' the input to the RCCB so that any spike can be filtered out.

Please kindly share your opinion if any, i plan to move in by next 2 weeks and this problem really make me headache enough. You can explain in technical way, i will able to understand because i'm EE based engineer.
Thanks.

Done - Change Satellite to PSB Alpha CLR1

Hi, i owned a Altec Lansing MX5021 for almost 9 years now. The internal amp NG during 5th year, but i revived it with slightly mod, now the speaker is powered by external 4ch car amp (Caliber CA-7400i), satellite to stereo and sub connected by bridging stereo to become mono, the amp is direct supplied from my PC ATX PSU (as in my siggy) 12V rail using 8AWG power cable. Source is from my ASUS Xonar D2X PCI-E soundcard, by setting 2ch -> 4ch stereo clone.

I did noticed one out of 4 midbass surround foam developed some hairline crack, i managed to repair using elephant glue and all have been work fine these few year. However...

Last Sunday i hired a maid to clean my house, i din expect they will wipe my speaker (I removed my speaker grill throughout these years), but unfortunately she wiped it, and now all my 4 midbass drivers torn severely. Very disappointed with that as i have put so much efforts to fine tuned the sound and i really enjoyed throughout these years. Now i can heard the midbass driver emit clicking noise when bass hit (expected outcome)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

[attachmentid=4336779]
[attachmentid=4336781]
[attachmentid=4336783]
[attachmentid=4336786]

May i know the driver still repairable? The midbass size is 3", which is not common IMO.

If let say it can't be repaired or you feel not worth it, can you recommend a small yet good sound quality satellite/bookshelf?

Below is my requirement for stereo satellite/bookshelf:
Budget: below RM1000
Size: Hopefully it won't be too big as i'm gonna fit on my PC desk. I quite love the shape, size and design of the Edifier S730 satellite, however they dun sell the satellite only i believe.
Passive/active: Passive, as i will use back current sub and amp to powering the stereo pair.
System: I prefer 2 way midbass + tweeter, because i dislike the sound produced by single full range. The midbass not necessary to produce strong bass as i will handover bass job to sub. Treble prefer fluid airy high.

Flashgot equivalent for Google Chrome?

I want to switch from Firefox to Chrome due to firefox scroll stuttering. However the main challenge i have now is i can't found a flashgot equivalent extension for chrome, which is for download manager. Last time at Firefox i use flashgot to direct the download to bitcomet, but now i can't do that in Chrome. Chrome default downloader is too simple for me.

Been searching for this whole day, can't find it yet, any recommendation from you guys?

PSU weird failure

Hi, did you guys ever encounter/heard this kind of weird failure? PSU permanent turn ON?

Today when i come home, i noticed that my standby PC turn ON itself, but with blank screen.
I thought was some kind of system hang, so i pressed the power button.

The PC wake up normally and everything works fine.

Then i turned off the PC and plan to restart later. The PC shutdown windows but the PSU din shutdown at all. All the fans and HDDs still running until i switched off the main power. Switch on the main, the PSU startup without press power button. Press the power button to turn ON the PC, it entered boot screen and hang there, since then can't boot into windows anymore.

I took out the PSU and unplug everything. Plug in the AC cord and switch ON, THE PSU START BY ITS OWN. Now only i understood the PSU is parmanent ON, with turn OFF failure.
