PC won't boot up

Hi all,

my PC is now stuck at this current screen after I pressing the ON button.

I have tried removing and re-inserting the rams and the HDD but of no help.

So, is this a mobo failure or CPU failure?

CPU & GPU for 24"

I am planning to upgrade my current 17" monitor to a 24" monitor.
What are the recommended CPU & GPU to purchase so that my computer can run optimally?

Current spec...
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz
ECS A780GM-A Ultra
Integrated GPU
2GB DDRII Kingston Value Ram
Cooler Master 500w Extreme Power

Yeah, its a pretty old computer that served me well over the years. My X1800GTO died a long way back and since then i have pretty much rid myself of the gaming addiction.

I am not planning to have a super high-end machine. Just enough that COD or L4d 2 and some latest games (not Crysis) can run smoothly on native resolution at mid-high settings. Most of my usage will be Full-HD movies, surfing and spreadsheets.

Preferably AMD CPU so that I dont need to change my mo-bo.

mobo 8-pin and 4-pin +12v ATX power

hi,i just bought a mobo ECS A780GM-A Ultra to replace my suspected faulty old mobo. the problem is, the new mobo have a 8-pin +ATX12V power connector,while my existing PSU (a CM 430extreme power) have only 4-pin.is it ok if i plug it in???

my processor is an old AMD Athlon 3500+, running integrated graphics

hi everyone,

after spending a week or so in Member Workout Journals,i finally mustered enough gut to start this thread.

i am 19 this year and just finished stpm.

my height is 168cm. and weights around 78kg using my old dusty weight machine (doubt its accuracy,might be heavier)

my problem is...the huge stomach i carry around.

to motivate myself,i joined celebrity fitness with my elder brother's blessing and bought myself a pair of Nike+ shoes when they are having promotion.its a huge investment for me,so it will keep me from slacking away (i hope )

my question is...what should i be doing???can anybody help me???

my aim is... rather simple. give me the confidence to wear a tank top in gym

SHORT TERM GOAL
1. Run 5km within 30mins

LONG TERM GOAL
1. Run 10km within 80mins

the spec of the comp that i am having problem is as follows...

proc p4 2.6 GHz
mobo asus P4SGX-Mx

after the initial hardware detecting screen,the computer will stuck at before loading into windows.with

NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

what can i do to solve this problem???
please help.

illegal system DLL relocation

i got this error once my computer entered windows.

TTHDCPL.EXE - illegal system DLL relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred bacause the DLL C:\WINDOWS\systems32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendow supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

well,my case is something like this...

one fine day,i went for a swim.after swimming,i found my right ear stuck n with sound of liquid in my ear.so,i tot its a normal block n left it alone.but after 2-3 days,its not recovered yet so i go to a doc.he say the ear wax expand after absorbing the pool's water.

then he used a plier or something to pull out the wax from my left(which is uninfected) n 3 days later,he used a much more complicated method for my right ear which needs flushing of lots n lots of water.its felt better immediately.

but not for long...

1 or 2 weeks after applying anti-biotic ear drops.my skin around the ear start to looks like its swollen,real big n red.so,i went back to the same doc n he gave some cream n amoxyphilin(the antibiotic) costing me RM30.it didnt help much,so i visit again,n he gave a more powerful cream n extra dosage of amoxyphilin (another 30)...but its not getting better.the skin around my ear started to peel off n it spread down my neck all the way to the chin might be due to the liquid(yellowish n sticky) released from the ear.

3rd time,n he issued a letter for specialist in Selayang Hospital and still charge me RM5 for that.

so,i went to the specialist.he cleared a layer of something by sucking it out with a big machine so that a wound inside can b exposed and gave me another ear drop.and finally it worked,and the skin is cleared up too.he said the complication might be due to the water used by that doc during the clearing of wax might be contaminated causing infection to happen...

sorry for being long-winded.well,since its obviously the doc's fault for not taking extra precautions and stuffs.can i sue him and ask for compensation for negligence of duty or anything.he's our family doctor and we all trusted him.now im so deeply disappointed with him.

any advise???
