Guys, not sure if this is the place to ask. i just could not stream any LIVE channel with my current PC - it just says 'connecting' and never even buffering. it was ok with my previous PC. well, i'm on windows XP - i don't think it's windows version issue? if anyone can help it would be great..

Question on buying a used car

Hi guys, i am considering to get a used car. Did some searching and found some really useful information to me in this regards. But want to ask more specific questions that i could not find, hope someone can help

1) thinking of getting a used car < 60k (found a thread on this with a few suggestions, and i would pick city (1st choice) or vios)
well, let's say for a 2004 idsi city which sells at around 54-57k, decent price, but if the car already pass the 50,000 km mark, is it still a good investment? i went to the vios new launch to visit visit, and the sales person told me that city idsi saves little fuel money, but the service after 20,000 or 30,000 km is super expensive... well i trust 50-50 lar..

2) vios - hmm only if the price is much cheaper than the city in the same make year. but maybe maintenance is cheaper than city bcoz of the technology?

3) what is the max year of loan i can get - 5, 7? 9 years is not an option?.. somemore do I, the buyer, need to find a bank, or can continue with the same bank with a new loan?

4) i always think that buying used cars directly from owners are always cheaper than getting from used car shops. but i might be wrong...

5) i dun really know a bout cars, and i do not know a mechanic, how to I verify if the car condition is good, e.g. engine, accident free?

thanks first and happy holiday tomorrow

Cannot press anything when booting with XP CD

Hi guys,

I have a big problem here.. hope you guys can help...

My pc have been infected by virus - that caused my antivirus to fail to load, then what i did was killing those funny funny processes - but then my IE cannot start and after i rebooted, my windows cannot start (i think due to IE not working)

So no choice, i formatted my pc, rebooted with windows xp bootable cd, but then i have a big problem, after loading all the files from the cd, when it comes to the menu where i should press enter to install fresh copy or repair or quit, i cannot press anything on my keyboard.

thinking that might be my harddisk problem - i tried with my 2nd harddisk - still gets the same problem. then i get my fren's harddisk - still same.

ok, what i tried next is to put my harddisk into my fren's pc and boot via cd. it works and at the screen, i can choose my next action (enter, f3 or etc.)

i tried with my 2nd and my fren's harddisk, all works! getting frustrated - i tried something - formatted my C drive and installing a windows into my C drive. then put back into my original pc.. cannot work as expected (hardware different?)

so now i am back to square one, cannot format, install or anything.. what can i do? i have been trying all these since yesterday night..

hope you all can help.. thanks in advance!
