Conundrum at workplace

I have a female friend who recently joined a small company, and there are only 4 people in the company including her. So, 2 bosses (manager and director) and 2 workers (her and another female colleague who has been working there for 2 years).

Only a few weeks into employment, my friend notice that the bosses are treating her very well like taking her out to lunch, sending her back home after work (on several occasions) and buy snacks and drinks for her. The other colleague has asked her why are both bosses treating her so nice when she hasn't received that kind of treatment since joining the company. My friend has no idea as well and this situation is making her uncomfortable and very tense whenever there is obvious favoritism towards her.

So here are some facts:
-The two bosses are married and have several children.
- My friend is local University graduate while the other only has high school certificate
- The female colleague can sometimes be introverted and quiet while my friend is more outgoing
- Both female workers are same age, about 25

Im sure this kind of paranoia from the female colleague is normal but its just the facts sometimes don't justify that kind of behaviour from the superiors.

So I am forwarding this situation to see if any forumers has similar experience and could offer words of advice or opinions as to what can be the cause of this favoritism. Is it the education gap? The personality thing or is just a phase that will go away since my friend is a new worker?

General Contractor (Construction)

Hi,

I would like to ask if any members of the forums are working as a project engineer (civil) that handles contractor work. As I am a fresh graduate I am pondering about the prospects of working alongside contractor projects instead of design and build.

I heard that its stressful to liase with clients and keep management and work flow on site etc. If anyone has any advise or experience please share.

Working in EnvironCorp?

Just wondering if any forumers could share experience on working in the company, salary, benefits etc. I am a civil engineering graduate and am interested in working in environmental services field. The company is a huge MNC company with offices around the world and is it possible for such company (MNC) to offer opportunities to work in their offices in other countries?
