Car beyond economical repair

aaron930 — Thu, 05 Sep 2019 20:41:48 +0800

Hello taiko2, sifu2, bossku2,

Just want to clarify a few questions, need answers desperately.

Met into an accident a couple of weeks back , car is a new car(ngam2 1 year old) with 9 year loan (balance loan 8 years)

Insurance company has declared the car as beyond economical repair and they offered to pay the insured value (35k), but bank loan balance still has (45k). There’s a gap of 10k.

Questions is:

1) do I need to still settle the balance gap 10k to the bank ? Can it be negotiated with the bank ?

2) the 10k must be made in a single payment or monthly repayment ?

3) can I negotiate with the insurance company to increase the offered amount to settle/help the bank loan balance ?

Hoping for an answer desperately 🙏🏽🙏🏽.

Hope the questions and answers will help someone in future too .

Thank you taiko2, sifu2, bossku2.
