Can TNB waive minimum charges for vacant house

Has anyone gotten a waive from TNB to waive off the minimum charges for vacant domestic unit/house? Or can I get back the RM3 charged previously and be offset with future consumptions/bills?

Maxis charges for retrieving voicemail

I only wanted to enable miss call notification (which is a free of charge service), however Maxis miss call notification service comes with voicemail altogether. Voicemail is not something i favour hence I asked them to terminate the voicemail but keep the miss call notification service active, they told me they cant do it. Both has to be active or inactive at the same time.

The issue is - I never wanted voicemail, but when others called me and could not reach me, they will always be led to voicemail which some of them left the voicemail. In order to know whose call I have missed, I have to dial 121 to retrieve the voicemail, then Maxis will again charge me $0.20 per minute for retrieving the voicemail. That would be unfair isnt it? What a tactic for Maxis to earn extra income from voicemail retrieval itself. Should they have provided this service for free since I'm paying monthly fee? Bloody money sucker.

Has anyone encounter same issue as me and successfully brought this case up to MCM for complaint etc? Would love to hear your thoughts.

CIMB Annual Fee for Saving Account

Does anyone has an idea when did CIMB start charging basic savings account an annual fee of RM8? I remember back then (10 yrs ago) when I first signed up for the account I did not get charged for such fee. Noted they've been charging me recent year without informing me. Was that some sort of directive from Bank Negara (i don think so). I was having this account with them for more than 10 years and only noted they charged me recently. This is kind of a dormant account for me that I don often use. But still I am not pleased to be charged this way. So far the CIMB officer has been useless and could not provide me with an answer, hence thought of asking here.

Recruiter / HR not responding - Good/Bad culture?

I have read a lot of posts from other forums, linkedin, glassdoors etc as well as from experiences from friends - it is not uncommon for HR or recruiter or hiring manager to ignore the candidate after interview, or even after initial phone screening, with some of them telling the candidates that he/she will get back to them but never did so.

For me, it is very a bad work ethics from the recruiter/HR, especially during a pandemic during this time. As much as the recruiter/HR can be overwhelmed with tonnes of workloads, they do not have the time to reply to each and everyone. However, as a recruiter/HR made a verbal promise that they will get back to the candidates, they should do so. Being silence or ignorance is disrespectful to the candidates who spent time on preparing for the applications or interviews. Lots of people has lost their job during pandemic and are diligently applying for jobs, taking time to prepare for the interview etc, only to be ignored or silenced of from the recruiter. Not cool.

What are your takes on this? Do you have any similar experience? Would like to hear more on this hence opening up this post for discussion.
