PC with build-in batteries

I am considering to purchase a Surface Pro 3 after seeing the promotion at Thunder Match... Previously was considering either MB Pro or Dell XPS... However, I just had 1 question to ask...

I am currently using a Dell Inspiron, 10 years old... Still working good although with some quirks, but thought its about time I get a new device for myself... My current usage is mainly for work / project / assignment, surfing the net, listening music, watching anime / movies, no gaming at all...

The thing is my laptop is almost always running 24/7 without shutting down (maybe once a week; sometimes put it on standby once every few days) but without the battery... So if I am to purchase any of the above models, I am wondering how well my devices will last especially the battery if I keep it plugged in to the power point? Is it better to buy a laptop with removable battery?

Just need a second opinion...

Giving up dreams for a loved one?

Should one give up their dreams for a loved one?

I have always dreamed of becoming a researcher and lecturer, but circumstances had always prevented me from doing so and luck was not on my side. I became depressed and stressed because of it. Because of that, I have not been a good boyfriend to my girl for the past 6 months and she had really gave up on me. Told me she no longer had any expectations for me and maybe we should end this relationship.

Maybe it's true that one really come to realise what matters most to them when you lose it. I realise that she is more important to me than my dreams. I want to be with her for the rest of my life, to take care of her and to love her. I told her I can change, I can forgo my dreams and I will be someone useful. But she still insisted that we should separate so that I can focus on chasing my dreams without her holding me back.

I have sat down and reflect on myself. I knew what I really want. I knew that even if I achieve my dreams, but without her, I won't be truly happy. What should I do?

Question here for discussion - should one give up their dreams for the one they love? Anyone experienced this before?

High School Transcripts

Hi all..

I need to get my high school transcripts for some uni application procedure; however I had since graduated from high school (form six) about 8 years ago. I submitted my STPM cert, but the uni requires my academic records during high school, i.e. my exam grades. I was wondering if the school still holds my academic records? If no, how am I to proceed with my uni application?

Has anyone face this kind of problem before? Please kindly advise..

Thank you..

Job Dilemma...

Hi to all forumers... I have a dilemma here and I need some opinion...

I am a fresh graduate in science, however I did not perform too well, and I just got a pass for my degree (in UK standards, it would be a 2:2). I am very disappointed with this as it complicates my chances to go for further studies. I have had 3 applications for Masters studies rejected so far and am very sad about it.

Recently I obtained a position as a research assistant in a research group in a public university. The research area is somewhat linked to my area of interest in which I wish to pursue on for my graduate studies. However, the salary is quite low and it might be a bit tight for me financially.

Then, I received an offer from another company which I previously applied to and got rejected. The position was as a market research analyst and they were very interested in hiring me now as the company is expanding and needs staff now. The salary is also 50% higher than my current salary. The only drawback is that the position has no links to my future plans.

So I'm in a dilemma now, should I stick to my current position & try to continue my journey towards my plan for graduate studies OR take the offer and have a better financial status and stability first before deciding what to do in the future?
