I have a nissan x-trail that used to have the following symtoms 3 month ago -<br />1. overheats - temperature gauge goes up and down after non-stop driving for about 30 minutes <br />2. cooling system leaking - i could see so much water below the car during idle. Need to top up radiator regularly<br />3. water/coolant in engine oil - i could see brown stuff forming in the engine oil cap<br />4. loss of power in engine<br />5. problem restarting the engine when the engine is hot. need to wait engine to cool down before able to restart<br /><br />I went to see my mechanic and he told me the gasket or engine head has crack. He suggested to me to change to second-hand engine since i already changed my gaskets/skimmed my cylinder head 1 year ago. <br /><br />I then went to see another mechanic 2 months ago and he told me to add 1 bottle of k-seal (anti-leak) after he changed my water pump ,thermostat and flush my radiator. After i did this, most of the symtoms above (2-5) went away except the car still overheats (temperature gauge up and down) after 1 hour driving under hot weather . The engine regain back its power, no water in engine oil and car can restart anytime. <br /><br />However, i observed 2 new symtoms - bubble in radiator cap when i left it open with engine on and big bubbles forming in overflow tank when i stop my car after driving for a while. <br /><br />I am not too keen to change my engine now cause it is running beautifully but the overhat problem is still there. what do you think is wrong with my car? changing cylinder head will cost RM 4-5K while changing to second hand engine about RM 2.5 -3.5K. <br /><br /><br /><br /> ycf71 The Fast &amp; The Furious Mon, 19 Aug 2013 11:32:56 +0800
