FamilyMart to open convenient store in Malaysia

QL Resources Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Maxincome Resources Sdn Bhd, has signed a franchise agreement with Tokyo-based FamilyMart Co Ltd for the development and operation of FamilyMart convenience stores in Malaysia.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, QL Resources said the expansion into the convenience store chain business with the established FamilyMart brand will open up bigger growth opportunities.

QL anticipates to open the first FamilyMart in Malaysia by December 2016.

“It is also a strategic downstream expansion of QL’s existing food manufacturing and distribution businesses that creates synergistic effect for the group.”

It said the agreement was for 20 years and renewable for subsequent periods of 20 years each at franchisee’s option.

“The agreement is also conditional upon successful franchisee registration of Maxincome with Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism.”

FamilyMart Co Ltd, the franchisor, is a listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The company, ranked as the second largest convenience store chain in the world, has 17,540 stores in seven countries worldwide as at 31 March 2016.

A Batik Air Boeing 737-800 registration PK-LBS reported a runway incursion incident with an ATR 42 belonging to Trans Nusa airline at Halim Perdanakusuma airport, Jakarta, tonight, Monday (04/04/2016).

No casualties were reported, according to a statement from the transportation ministry.

A Boeing 737-800 operated by Batik Air flight ID7703to Makassar, was attempting to take off from Halim Perdanakusuma airport when its wing clipped the tail of the Trans Nusa ATR42 aircraft registration PK-TNJ being towed off the runway.

“All passengers and crew were safely evacuated,” the transportation ministry said in a statement, adding the airport, which services mainly domestic flights, would be closed until further notice.

Ford will be 77 when the untitled Indiana Jones is released in theaters.

Spielberg has directed every film in the franchise. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the last film, opened in 2008 and starred Ford opposite Shia LaBeouf, who the producers hoped could over the baton, but the mission failed.

Warner Bros. has dated Nolan’s next film for July 21, 2017. Shooting will begin in May 2016 in many of the real locations.

A coalition of Malay non-governmental organisations has lodged a police report demanding investigation over the source of funding for Bersih 4.0.
The coalition led by Datuk Jamal Md Yunos made the report at the Dang Wangi police station at 3pm today and in a press conference afterwards, he claimed that participants expected to attend the Bersih rally next weekend have been promised a minimum of RM300 each.
“I have handed over evidence in the form of statements and documents backing up my claim. Now it is up to the police how they wish to carry out the investigation.”
He said that 37 people aged between 20 to 30 have confessed to receiving a “deposit” of RM100 by several politicians and businessmen who approached them to secure attendance for the rally.
According to Jamal, the 37 individuals allegedly from the same group, had approached him on Sept 19 claiming to have been offered RM300 if they stay from the start to end of the rally.
“From what I was told, they were first given a deposit of RM100.
“If they show up at the rally they will receive another RM100 and at the end of it, before they leave another RM100 will be given to them.”
He then challenged Bersih 4.0 organisers to publicly state where they got their funding from as based on his estimation, if 100,000 people were approached that would mean the electoral reform group would have to fork out RM30 million.
The sum, Jamal said, did not include all the other costs such as transportation and food which they would allegedly receive four times a day.
He questioned where the money came from, suggesting the possibility of funding from either Israel or the Selangor government.
“The public needs assurance that the money they receive came from a legit and halal source.
“For the Malays, I urge all of you to avoid taking the money in case it came from haram or illegal sources which will become part of your flesh and blood.”
When asked as on the names of those giving out the money, Jamal said he refused to name them but hoped that the police would call them in for questioning soon.
The Bersih 4.0 rally has been scheduled to go on from the 29th to the 30th of this month.
Apart from the main rally in Dataran Merdeka, here, similar gatherings would also be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Kuching as well as major cities worldwide.

- Paul ~~Rugg~~ Rudd (typo Lel) is great as Antman, your another B rated actor becoming a rising star, everyone else also acted well.
- Very dry villain, usual Marvel.
- Comedies, I lol'ed
- HORY SHEIT, GO WATCH IT IN 3D, THE ACTION SCENES ARE HHGHH

KUALA LUMPUR: Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the new school session has been postponed by one week in view of the disastrous floods that have inundated the nation particularly in the East Coast.

In an official statement from the ministry, Muhyiddin said, “As Education Minister, I am concerned and totally understand the hardships all parties will face including school authorities, teachers, parents and students if the school session for 2015 begins on 4 January 2015 as scheduled (in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor) and on 5 January 2015 in other states.”

Announcing that the new session for schools nationwide had been postponed to one week later, he said, “With this postponement, the new date for the start of the 2015 school session for Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor will be 11 January 2015 (Sunday). In all other states, school will start on 12 January 2015 (Monday).

The Education Ministry also revealed that a total of 340 schools in seven states were affected by the floods, having either been utilised as flood relief centres or submerged by flood waters themselves.
Muhyiddin explained the postponement took into consideration the time consuming recovery efforts for the schools concerned as well as the teachers, parents and students who were flood victims themselves and who would have little time on their hands to prepare for a new school session amidst the current chaos.

He added, “If the flood situation improves, school authorities can use that time to clean up the schools’ premises to ensure that students have a safe, comfortable and the right environment to study in.”
