Traveling to Langkawi without a Passport

Question folks

What happens if you're a student and your passport is with the Immigration? I have a flight to Langkawi in a few days and my passport is still with the Visa Dept of University to be submitted to Immigration. I've bought my flight tickets months ago and didn't expect Malaysia's Immigration to only issue me a (strangely short) period of a week special pass. So now my passport isn't with me and I have a flight to catch in a few days to Langkawi.

Can I just bring a letter of undertaking from Uni that my passport is with them and a signed/stamped passport copy? Would that be sufficient? (Flying MAS btw).

BB stolen now I need to import contacts

However I can't connect a BB to my Desktop Software and I want to import all my contacts and whatnot into my Android.

A few of my friends have been travelling and they've become quite fond of Couchsurfing. Sounds pretty cool yeah? I did think about taking up this activity however, I do get a little concerned about the safety of my wellbeing and such being a girl who travels alone. Would be nice to try though.

I see tonnes of sad sob stories here. My BF/GF/Fiance/Cat ... cheated on me or I'm cheating on them.
Or the usual break up sad stories and all that stuff. Why do people even want relationships anymore?

There are some stories which end up happy yeah, but that hardly happens in today's world, at least that's how I see it.

With a few failed relationships behind me, I don't see the appeal in it anymore. Why date someone, mess around, end up in tears or argue and be jealous and all the nonsense that comes along with the usual "relationship"? Why do people even want to put themselves through it? Do you actually believe people are loyal anymore anyway? I don't know if I think like this cause of my history with the opposite gender but it's just some thoughts I've had lately.

Haaanyway, doesn't hurt to have a "friend" who's always around no? lmao. Anyway, thoughts?
