What do you think of our education system

1) Primary and secondary level.

a) Do you think that its been made too easy so that the rest can have passing grade?
b) Do you think english should be the medium for science and maths subjects?
c) Do you think there's too much emphasis on Sejarah?
d) Do you think the level of teaching is poor?
e) Does this provide you to movitation to migrate because you think your kids aren't getting the quality education here?
f) Anything else you would like to add?

2) Tertiary level

a) We already have a bigger middle class so do you think that the current government scholarship schemes should be removed and only for the poor?
b) Do you think the government scholarship scheme for students to study locally and overseas are regularly abused. Meaning some rich kids are actually taking up this scholarship when their parents can afford it.
c) Do you think the local universities should have more places for chinese and indians?
d) Is it true that some faculties like law, accounting and engineering at local universities only allow like 10% chinese and indians to enter? If this is so, why is it so? What can be done to improve this situation?
e) Do you think all races in Malaysia have equal access to tertiary education and at the cost they willing to pay for it?

3) Matching education to work

a) Do you think the current batch of local grads are able to adapt well to fast pace working environment?
b) Anything else you would like to add?
What do you think of Burger Lab Sea Park?
I like the burgers, they are nice. Charcoal burgers there quite novel.

But do you think you are getting your value for money?

1) When you pay circa RM25 per burger but you don't have any place to sit since its so crowded?

2) For the price you pay, there is no ambience for dating. People crowd long lines, in the end pack into tables with benches. When you finish your meal, you want to have nice conversation with your gf, but others are watching you both because they are standing there waiting for the next available table.

3) For the same price you pay, do you think you can get a better deal at TGIF and American Chillis, at least they got places to sit and its reasonable environment for dating.

4) So crowded, you end up ordering takeaway. They should set up another booth allocated outside the shop so the long lines ordering takeaway don't infringe on customers who go there to sit, eat and enjoy the ambience.

5) For me burgers are nice, only trouble is, they are very filling..I can't finish them. Do you think they are worth the price?

Tis morning got stuck in jam at MRR2, B.Tun Razak

I got stuck for 1.5 hours, late for work.

Initially was caused by an accident between a MVYI and AlZa ( I think, didn';t get a clear look).

But what made it even worst was a truck overladen with wood planks, slowly escorted by two DBKL pickup trucks.

Come on, man this is the morning rush, I know DBKL want to do their work but why can't tey just stop the overload truck, issue the summons instead of escorting the truck at snail pace, causing a long long jam behind?

Anyone else stuck in this jam this morning? Geram lah.

Do you think Samsung Galaxy got bad reception?
I used to possess a HTC smartphone, it was excellent I don't have any problem with it, until one day I accidentaly dropped it onto a sharp corner point of the concrete floor. The screen shattered but the phone still worked like normal.

So I changed my smartphone to a Galaxy W. Samsung has done well in terms of keeping the tech up to date and its easy to use.

However, I like to "boil porridge" when talking to gf or friends.

I find the hearing reception not very good. I always hear a lot of disruption. Sometimes I can't hear clearly what the other side is saying. There was even one embarassing moment when I told my co-worker via hp, to meet up with the customer, inform him the name is Cheryl. My co-worker is using the Samsung S-3. He misheard me, and address the client as Sharon.

Do you all have the same problem with Samsung's reception. I am thinking of changing back to HTC.

Sat star job section seem quiet

Usually in january, the job market is quite good but as I open my saturday star, i was shocked to only see 6 pages of jobs advertised in the classifieds.

Back in 2008, the classified pages can go as many as 20 pages.

Why? Is it because

1) Job market for 2013 is weak due to the global economy crisis
2) jobstreet and job recruitment firms have taken large share from star classifieds.
3) Its still Jan, still early, employers have yet to start their recruitment program, probably in Feb or after CNY.
4) Star job ads are expensive.
Why so few Polo Sedan on road?

Do young girls like older mature guys?

Sometime ago I had a discussion with one of my church pastor who was counselling a young 20 year old girl who had a traumatic love affair with a 50 year old married man. She confessed that she liked the married man because he reminded him a lot of her father.

So is it true that young women like older men because they act like a father figure to them?

So if you are still single in your mid 30s or early 40s, would you go think that a young early 20s girl would fall for you?

Guys and gals,

I like going to A&W, the root beer float and the waffles are among my favourites. The one in Tmn Jaya (opposite Amcorp Mall) has been operating here for years.

But lately the hygene has been very bad. Last week I went to order some burgers, was waiting at the counter, counter table was spilled with root beer, nobody bother to clean up, as a result there is a long trail of ants all over the counter table.

Then when wash hands at the sink, saw a lump of chicken in the sink hole, two big cockroaches eating the chicken meat, nobody bother to clean.

Why Bata shoes so like that wan?

I just bought myself a pair of bata shoes.

I wore them to my office the next day.

Clik, Clak Clik Clak..the sole make so much noise, my colleagues complain.

They can even hear me coming up the stairs 10m away.

Then one day I went to shopping mall, the shoe no grip, I almost slip.

Two weeks later, the shoe no grip, i almost slip when i was coming outside a bank, the floor was ceramic with no grip.

Few days later, it rained, floor was slippery, I almost slip again.

Yesterday I decided to send it to the cobbler to change the soles.

Why is the Bata shoe so lousy? The designer have 100 years of experience and then they design such a shoe with no grip at all. Their R&D must be sleeping.

Honda Insight: Is it a good buy?

For the moment, at 99.8k, the price is not good.
But when i heard can get up to 9k discount, make the car quite worthwhile.

There are some concern about the car.

1) Insight haven't been around long enough to prove its batteries can last 10 years, whereas Prius has. Any testing done by independents to prove that?
2) Dealer show me the maintenance schedule: For minor maintenance ok, but major maintenance can go as high as 1.2k. Why so high? Brand new car wat. And some more the electric motor don't need to maintain or change oil.
3) Why give so high rebate? Is there something fishy about the car? Honda refuse to give rebate on civic, city and accord.
4) Since insight is special tech, disadv is that cannot go to private mechanic for maintenance. Is this true? What if my car breakdown in middle of the road in some village in kelantan, is honda able to send their technician?
5) Are there any plans to manufacture insight at the melaka plant? If true, then would it make insight cheaper?

Are you all sick of big weddings?

I just don't understand particularly chinese weddings. All the glamour, all the expensive treats, then after that big night, everything is over - all the so-called friends or colleagues you invited - 3 or 4 years after your wedding, they don't even bother about you.

Is it time now to have small and cheaper weddings?

Here are the following reasons why big weddings are rubbish:

1) Half of the wedding guests - you don't know, your father's friends, your mother's friends, your wife's friends and hi bye friends
2) Some of the guests skimp, like they know they suppose to give you a RM100 ang pau based on the lavishness of the restaurant or hotel you booked, so they likely give RM60, or some of them bring family with children but only the adults pay.
3) THe restaurants and hotels are making big bucks out of you
4) Waste of shark fin....(most restaurants still serve shark fin and if you don't want shark fin, your father-in-law may want, so which son-in-law dares to defy him?)
5) Why people invite their colleagues, when after 5 years they decide to quit and change jobs?
6) You waste so much money, that good money for the lavish wedding could be used as downpayment for your first house
7) You book 50 tables but half of the tables - most of the guest you invited, go aeroplane on you, as a result, some tables of 10 only got 5 or 6 or 8 guests attending, so you won't break even (assuming that all guests give ang pau).
8) THe need to hire an MC, a music band or some entertainer (waste of money)

LETS BUCK THE TREND and HAVE SMALLER WEDDINGS or go straight to court with your close friends, relatives and family to sign.

Social Circles vs Dating websites

Last week, I had a yam cha session with an old guy friend of mine. He's updated me on his social dating scene.

So I wanna ask if its true or not?

He tells me that he finds it easier to find love through the dating web sites than finding love via his social circles. Here is the case:

Social circle.
My friend, always hangs out with this big group of friends of like 20 people. There is this girl, he wanted to get to know her better. It turns out she is a friend of a friend within the group. From their social hang outs, my friend drew closer to this girl, they talked a lot with each other. My friend even called her and she called him back, they chat a lot on the phone. Then they chat and updated each other's facebook. One day, she call my friend and ask him out but my friend was busy because he had a study project to do, so he declined. Two weeks later, suddenly this stranger guy sent harrasing messages to my friend, telling him not to go after his gf. My friend was shock although he was merely interested to get to know this girl, he has never asked her out. Then she started to be cold to him. She even brought out her bf, he started to make fun of my friend during the social gatherings, poking insults at him that he is not rich enough and that he is pathetically single. My friend was hurt by this but he being a gentle guy decided not to confront the donkey bf. I told him, that if he ever wanted a fight or bash that stupid guy, I would join him to beat him up, but my friend being peaceful guy, said no need. But time and time again, the harass from the idiot bf got too far when he brought his other friends to join this social circle they started to monopolize the social scene, they arrange activities but boycott my friend, influence others not to talk to him. When they send out email or facebook mssg for activities, they deliberately leave out my friend's email or fb. Only when they finish the activity like a visit to a durian orchard or some jungle trekking or go for ice skating, only then they include my friend's email, posting how they enjoyed the trip, bla bla.

After some time my friend quit the group. Its so unfair, he never ask the girl out, he was just being friendly to her and they chatted a lot and make jokes. He never confess his liking for her. Yet her donkey boyfriend play politics at him.

Dating websites
In contrast, my friend posted his particulars in one popular website, started to hook up with some girls there. And then probably out of 10 he ask out, he got 1 or 2, to go out dating with him. There weren't a lot of hassles, as they came out with him, they chat, shared experiences and then exchange numbers. Then after a meal, some of the girls were nice enough to go dutch with him. After 6 months of dating with various girls, he found somebody and is now attached.

Question

So now I ask is
1) Why is it so hard to find somebody in social circle? Why is it always when a guy is interested to know the girl better, she's always attached?

2) In social circles, girls don't seen available. They just make themselves not available.

3) In social circles, there's always lots of competitors and saboteurs.

[addedon]November 8, 2012, 1:30 pm[/addedon]I also know another friend, who join a study group. In this study group there is this girl, who sees intellectually compatible. My this friend who is a smart guy at school, fell in love with her because he thinks they are compatible. So he decided to write her a love letter. When she receive and read it, she became very cold to him. She explain to him that she got a working boyfriend. It turns out coincidently, she claims, that he is working in singapore. My friend was heart broken. But 6 months later, she fell in love with another classmate. So my friend ask her what happen to her "working singaporean boyfriend", she answered that she broke up with him and fell in love with my friend's classmate.

Shucks, approaching girls in social circle is dangerous after all.

What is the outcome of Proton-Honda tie-up deal?

Was planning to buy a honda insight but now my purchases have been postponed by this startling news.

http://my.news.yahoo.com/honda-tie-malaysi...4--finance.html

So what is the consequence of this? Will Proton become OEM for Honda Jazz, Insight, Civic and Accord?

I am really disappointed, Proton is suppose to produce their own models, I don't want to see Proton rubber stamp its cars with VW and Honda cars, then there is really no point in having a national car.

If I buy a Honda Insight now for RM99k (before discount), three months down the line Proton may launch a similar Proton hybrid model (looking like the Insight) for half the price, then current Honda Insight owners will be cursing in the air. This is not fair.

We know Proton tried to do the same for Polo Sedan and then they did so for Misubishi Galant.

What do you think?
1) Buy HOnda Insight
2) Wait and see what is the outcome of the proton-honda deal.

Is physical attraction important?

Ok, I am not the sort of guy who seeks pretty girls. But often I meet girls who have great personality. Really like talking to them but the physical chemistry is not there.

For me so as long as she attracts me, that is good enough. I understand that when people age, they aren't so goodlooking anymore. But there's got to be at least some physical attraction. If you do know some of the girls I go out with, then you will know that I am not the kind that prefers pretty girls. Just average looking is good enough.

Ok, another issue, is I have a 40 year old cousin and a 27 year old pet sister. I would like to matchmake them. My cousin is ok, a career person, earns well. While my pet sister, though young, is a bit nerdy and reserve. Would their age gap be an obstacle? Should I try?

Polo Sedan 1.6: why got so BIG discount?

I am not going to say which branch but I've gone to quite a number of them and they have been offering really big discounts on the car.

I've gone to toyota, mazda and hyundai, at most they can give RM3k discount but VW provides bigger discount (than the normal) than that (though I am not revealing how much).

So does any of you know why they are doing so?

Is there something wrong with the car?

Is the price list on the car is not what it seems to be?

But having said this, Polo Sedan is still a nice car, good furnishings (compared to plastiky Toyota) and its 1.6liter engine is far far better than its japanese counterparts.
