Suggestions to cure LYN of cancer

surfing LYN is not informative and enjoyable as it used to be. we all know how bad the kopitiam has degraded into. the cancer also spread to everywhere on the board. it's sickening to see new/old dupes post zero value threads and then followed up by the rest of retards with lines like "pics or GTFO", "first", "slowpoke"...one fine example is this: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/924863

i suggest the admins should really come down hard on this issue already. we've been letting this disease far too long to have such "used to be" professional forum degraded into a laughing stock among the tech world. there are many clear cases of dupes, tarps, emos, trolls posting freely all over the board. i suggest for clear case of newly registered dupes that post zero value threads like the example shown above be given permaban immediately. that way, we already deal the first blow in ridding the root of cancer. then we can slowly rid the remaining dupes. please look into my suggestions. i really hope LYN can really live up to its past glory.

FAQs

Employments:
~~Job opportunities are still good~~. Those with higher education level/experience stand a better chance and command a higher starting pay. Good command of English in resume writing or interview is a huge benefit. The following are the list of available online job sites:

The most effective but expensive method is to do it the old fashion way. Come over to Singapore, and then extend your visa to long term. During your stay in SG, flip through the recruitment newspaper and apply for your job through the company itself. This way, you're almost guaranteed to be in front of the queue from those who applied through Jobstreet. You can also attend their interviews without any delays while you're here in SG.

Various employment passes are available to enable you to work in Singapore depending on your skills and pay. Employers will help you in the application of passes. Your job is however pending on the approval of the pass. Information of types of passes are available through MOM's website. Do not worry of what passes you get. Eventually all will allow you to work in SG. Some do fuss about it due to "status" and extra benefits (i.e: credit card and contract phone applications). Just be hardworking and move up the passes or apply directly for PR few years down the road.

Please take note that ex Singaporean PRs who renounced their status without serving the National Service will have their job and employment pass applications greatly degraded.

CPF and Taxes:

Accomodations:
HDBs everywhere! Prime and new areas should cost around SGD450-600 per room (with or without utilities). You can still find sub SGD400 per room in remote or rundown areas. If you can afford the luxury, apartments and condos are the way to go. SGD800-1200 per room is the current market price. Normally comes with swimming pool and gym facilities.

Transportation:
No need to describe any further. Been compared and discussed too many times between SG and MY. In SG, you can be anywhere in the island just by using public transport. The all too convenient EZ link card can be used in both MRT and bus (even McD yeah!). For places out of reach, taxi is the answer. Don't worry, you won't get touted with expensive fares. They are a bunch of professionals with accurate meters. First entry onto cab is SGD2.80 or SGD3.00. The rest runs on meter plus any surcharges from tolls, airport surcharge or stopping period. If you are travelling in group of 4, taxi is the cheaper option on certain routes compared to others.

This is very subjective depending on the spending power of different individuals. But here are the basic breakdowns on rough estimates:

2. Food SGD500 (varies)

4. Entertainment SGD300 (strip it off if wanna save)

Is web based email like Yahoo and Gmail vulnerable to hackers? There are a couple of times where I have received spams in my mailbox which originated from my own email address (not the fake header name).

Been blogging for some years but kept a low profile. Just signed up with the adsense and nuffnang program recently. Thought that it will be a good idea to do some links exchange here to generate some traffic.

"click" sound lost in windows

i'm using Windows XP Home edition. for no reason, the click sounds in my windows are lost. the click sound i mean here is the sound made when you click on a folder in explorer; when you are surfing, the sound made when you click on a link, refresh, home, back and forward buttons. it's no big deal but i just feel unnatural now because i'm so used to listen to the sound. anyone knows how to enable it again?

* sound card working perfectly as i can listen to songs.

He added that a consortium, possibly called the National Infocom Infrastructure Management Company (Niimco), might be formed to roll out the infrastructure.

Niimco might comprise the Government, Telekom Malaysia and other industry players and may be modelled after the British example where service providers formed a consortium to build infrastructure without killing one another.

Digi is very aggressive in researching/preparing for Wimax after losing the 3G license bid twice. after reading the news today, the last paragraph is disturbing. government and telekom again. i smell protection plan for celcom instead. is the government trying to shut off Digi again?

Hi,
I'm required to get an eyesight (Snellen's Chart) and color blind (Ishihara) test report from a QUALIFIED doctor. Where can i have my eye tests done? Opticians are not allowed. Should i go to an eye specialist or hospital to get it done?
